I Can't Escape Novels & Stories

I’m too busy thinking about how I’m going to get from the bed and downstairs without breaking my neck. Mack’s suggestion to take me to the garden tempts me for a moment. Not because I’ll be getting fresh air, but because it would make escape easier if I was already outside. But then I catch sight of my gray duffel bag in the corner of the bedroom and I realize I can’t leave here without it. So, I have to make my escape from the bedroom. I can’t leave my clothes and all my cash behind because it’s all I have. It’s only mid-afternoon when my stomach grumbles and the urge to use the bathroom sneaks up on me that I realize I’m being stupid.

“Escape? You think I want to escape my prison? You’re funny. Really funny. You have no idea what you’re asking. No idea at all.” I gritted my teeth, confused as to what to do now. “Why not? You’re trapped here just like me. We can find a way out. Together. Please. I need your help. I can’t stay here. I can’t keep living like this. Tell me you want to get out too. Tell me you know a way. We can do this. We can be free. Please. Don’t make me beg.”

Kieran made a sharp gesture, and the shadow domain instantly expanded, plunging the entire church into darkness. Everyone but me was frozen in the gloom. Even Lucian was held fast by countless shadows, unable to move. "Let him go!" I roared. Kieran teleported in front of me. Ignoring my struggles, he forcefully swept me up and rushed out of the church. A black helicopter hovered overhead. A few minutes later, I was deposited on the cabin sofa. The helicopter ascended rapidly, leaving Los Angeles behind. "Where are you taking me? Let me go!" I lunged for the cabin door.

I will escape. But my time is running out.

I thought I had this possibility taken care of a long time ago. Why does my whole life have to change in such a short time? As I arrive home from the doctors I’m still in a daze. The one person I do not want to see right now is sitting in my drive way. Mr.Kenway is leaning against his vehicle, which is parked directly where my car normally gets parked. I pull the mirror down and look at myself in the mirror. I have puffy eyes and a red face. But other than that I look fine. As I go to step out of the vehicle he starts to walk towards me. “Why are you avoiding me?” He asks well standing directly in front of me. “I have no idea what you are talking about.” I say looking him directly in the eye

The only option that will do me any good is escaping this place, this mansion, this family and this man I need a plan.

“Well, Cara, this is it. There are provisions in the cabinets and refrigerator. I will return, but not for some time. Remember what I said, do not try and open this door. Or……. BOOM.” With that he slammed the door to my tomb, I heard the lock system slide into place and another set of beeps that was indecipherable. “Well that happened,” I said into the emptiness. I hear Carlos slam his car door and the engine starts as I hear the crunch of his tires on the ground outside, it becomes apparent that he really does intend to leave me here. This is not a joke, no one knows where I am. I have no phone and no way to contact anyone. I am trapped, with no way to escape.

And some people… are impossible to resist, impossible to tame, and impossible to escape. And I was already consumed.

It was written in my fate to bear the pain at the king’s hand. “Yes, I know. But still, Ivy, please find a way and help me to escape. You are the head now. Can’t you do something to help me?” I ask her. Tears have started rolling down my cheeks now. Why are all the doors of my escape always closed for me? Why only pain is written in my fate?
