My pulse beat hard, but my expression never faltered. I rose, moving with deliberate slowness, every eye tracking me. Amy pressed with a grin, the question hanging in the air like a challenge. I pondered my choices for a second. If I chose truth, someone could ask me if I liked someone here, and I wasn't sure I had the right answer for that. I didn't want to be put in the spotlight that way. But dare was also...a dare. They could ask me to do anything they wanted and I couldn't refuse. There was no right answer here. Yet, I felt a reckless courage bubble up inside me as I held Adrian’s gaze. I offered with a big smile but he wasn't even smiling anymore. "No, Davina I am not being nice to you for that purpose. I think I've given my most honest answers in the form and if they like it, they would call me for an interview and I want to clear it myself. I want to judge my potential, and I will only be accepted if I'm deserving. Please don't do anything for me, Davina.
