“I can’t break the spell.” She stiffened. “What do you mean you can’t?” “I mean exactly what I said,” I drawled. “I don’t know how. I haven’t figured out how to undo it yet.” Shock flickered across her face. “You… you mean to tell me that you cast a spell you don’t even know how to reverse?!” I shrugged. “It’s all part of the learning process.” She let out a frustrated noise and turned away, running a hand through her hair. “This is insane.”

She was already halfway across the rink before I'd taken three strides. "Show-off!" I called. She didn't even look back, just lifted one hand in a lazy wave that somehow managed to communicate both 'I heard you' and 'I don't care' at the exact same time. I then took her by the hand and led her back to the outskirts of the restrooms where I had first stopped time. "This is where we were, huh?" she asked. "When you did your magic, I mean?" "Yep," I calmly replied as I came to a halt and turned to her, our hands falling away from each other. "How are you able to do it anyway?" she wondered. "Did you learn some kind of dark magic or maybe a dying wizard gave you a book of spells?" I couldn't help but laugh. She was more imaginative than I was. "To tell you the truth, I really don't know," I replied, piquing her curiosity. "It just...came to me. I don't know how else to explain it."

She retorted, a smirk took over my features because she did not know what I was capable of. “Since that is known, I hope you are not expecting thousands of roses and candles. Because that's not something I can do.” I looked at her, and the only thing I could point out was the fact that a switch had suddenly gone off in her head, or maybe she was dealing with a concussion.

So, this was new to her and she didn’t know how to act. “I don’t know what to say.” She answered after a while. “Say what is in your heart and please stop crying.” Tokelo wiped her tears. “I have never done this before.” She told him. “What do you mean?” he asked not understanding what she meant. “I never dated before Tokelo so I don’t know how this whole thing works. My area of expertise is computers not dating.” She was frustrated because all this was new and she didn’t know what to do.

She laughs as she approaches me; she takes a shrimp from the bowl, peels it, and then uses the knife to cut it open from the back, removing the vein. I googled my first time, so you don’t have to be embarrassed.” I blush, ok why am I blushing?

"See the color right now? That's almost right. Another thirty seconds and it's wrong. You have to pull it almost." I watch the pan. Then watch her watching the pan. The concentration on her face, the certainty she has in her own hands, the way she moves in a kitchen like it's the one place where everything makes complete sense to her. "Now," she says, and pulls the pan. "How do you know?" "I just know." She sets it aside. "Fourteen years of almost and wrong until you learn the difference." "What else do you know ? Without being able to explain it." She thinks about it seriously, which is what I love about asking her things. She doesn't deflect or perform modesty. She actually considers.

She sounds fascinated, leaning forward slightly. I swallow hard, bite my lip, then nod. Her eyes go wider still, and she slaps my arm in excitement. "No way?" She covers her mouth with her hand. "Really? Did you taste it? Did it reach here?" She points to her throat. "Was it that big? Did you choke?" Questions pour out of her one after another. I shake my head frantically, panic tightening my chest. "Then what's the problem?" She asks, confused. "I-I don't know how to do it." I say, scratching my head until my scalp tingles with mortification.

I still have food in my mouth, after hearing her questions, food comes out of my mouth and I start coughing. "Hey relax!" She starts rub my back slowly. What the fuck is she kidding me, don't she know what I’m? "Are you okay?" Standing from the chair, she walks close to me. "Don't you really know what I do?" I asked her being in shock.
