I Found You You Found Me Novels & Stories

"Mummy, I've found Daddy!" A frisson of shock fills me at the sound of the calling voice, my heart caught in an array of unmatched beats. Turning immediately to the direction of the door, I wiped my forehead, my face almost turning red with anger. I could perfectly recognize the voice, it was that of my four year old daughter, Ivy.

I begged so many people to fix me , I begged so many people to say that they love me – to say that I was not trash and that I was loveable…but what I got in return was just a hand full of men who took advantage of a broken insecure girl , who only wanted some one to call her his princess. I have been searching so much for my old self – I search high and low. Each day , I wake up with a mission – a mission to search for her. I will search high and low , I will search from east to west , I will search until I can no more…and as I return to bed , slipping under the covers – I shiver with that emptiness I feel without her. My feet aches and so does my head and my heart – so my sadness leaks down

Her brothers didn’t move, but Sophia could tell they were silently communicating the way only family could. “I don’t remember!” she said, panicking. “Even with all the drugs, even with everything you did I still don’t remember where anything is!” Vincent’s smile didn’t change. “But you do, Sophia. Your dreams, the garden you keep seeing, the big oak tree, the place you played hide and seek. Your subconscious knows exactly where it is." The garden. In her dreams, there had always been a garden with a huge oak tree that almost seemed to touch the sky. Children playing, laughter, sunlight through leaves. And beneath it all…

Dangerous. I slipped into my room, twisting the lock with a click that echoed too loud. Leaned against the door, heart racing. My phone buzzed, it was Mia: Pics blowing up! You famous, babe! Hot dad carrying kid while you glow? Ship it! Then another buzz, unknown number. One line: Enjoy the voice while it lasts. Some things break quietly.

While the photo remained on screen, the music stopped and his voice echoed in the video: "When I found you, I found my paradise. I found love in your heart and you changed my life. You save me from myself and from all my fears every day. Every day I've lived by your side has been a day in paradise. I remember every day, every first time, every whispered promise. Nothing can change what you mean to me, especially now that you carry more than just love and my secrets. Are you ready, Melissa, to keep living in paradise with me?"

He took the microphone from her and, holding her hand in his free hand, another tune began to play, and he sang for her; I found a love for me Oh, darling, just dive right in and follow my lead Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet Oh, I never knew you were someone waiting for me 'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love Not knowing what it was I will not give you up this time But darling, just kiss me slow Your heart is all I own And in your eyes, you're holding mine Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favourite song When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath But you heard it, darling, you look perfect

I laughed at myself at first. It sounded insane. But the more I watched him, the less insane it felt. So I called my mother. She answered on the third ring. “Damien,” she said, surprised. “Is something wrong?” “Maybe,” I replied. “Or maybe I’m finally right about something.” She sighed. “You don’t call unless it matters. Speak.” “I think I’ve found her,” I said quietly. There was a pause. Then, very carefully, “Found who?” “The one you’ve been searching for.”

I love you. I really do love him, I really love him. I really love him. ME: I hope you will be back soon, meet me by the pool. I just came up to drop my computer off. Leaving all electronics in the room. Hopefully I will see you soon. Xxoo When I got back to the pool I sipped my water and dove in. It felt nice. It was warm. I wonder if it is heated. It must be.

I had only shared the code with two people—Zeke and Hendrick. One winter, I had caught a terrible cold and wasn't recovering. Zeke and Hendrick had been frantic but didn't want to visit directly. So, they tried sneaking into my house by climbing over the wall, nearly getting caught by the police. That was when I decided to give them the back door code. But this time, there was someone else with them—a smiling, demure Vivian. "Trish!" Vivian greeted me, her smile sweet and innocent. She pulled a damaged diamond necklace out of her pocket, with a few stones missing.

I promised “Even if you forget the way back I’ll find you” Her hand gripped mine tighter And we walked back into the trees Together But still chasing something just out of reach
