“Too late. You’re stuck with them now.”
We reached the corner of the street, where a small flower shop stood. Without warning, he tugged me inside.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Getting you something,” he said, scanning the displays.
“Brandon—”
“No arguments,” he said, cutting me off. He picked a small sunflower from the counter and handed it to me. “Here.”
I stared at it, the petals bright against my fingers. “A sunflower?”
He smiled, that easy, heart-melting smile that could undo me in seconds. “You’re my sunlight. You keep showing up, even after everything. I thought it was fitting.”
