I hated Tony with every ounce of energy in me. The abhorrence I felt towards Tony was so huge. It was like a giant cloud hanging over my head, threatening to consume me. I had never hated anyone this way. Just the mention of his name irritated me. I tore a book to shred just because it had a character whose name was Tony. I never knew I could hate anyone this way.

However, in my teary, agitated state, I ended up bumping against the clear glass window and landed on my ass painfully as I shifted back due to my dilapidated state automatically. Guess I should have fed my vampiric self with some blood before making that move.

It was one thing for her to cry because she was sad about her parent's constant quarrel, it was another to see her cry because she thought I hated her. I had been her nanny since she was three months old, the girl was like a daughter to me, it was impossible to hate her.

I arch a brow. “Nemo?” Harlow nods excitedly. “It’s Daddy Mercer’s pick!” I give Kade a look, and he just grins unapologetically. “What? It’s a classic.” Shaking my head, I settle back against the pillows, pulling Harlow onto my lap. “Fine. But if we’re doing this, I get to pick the next movie.” Kade smirks. “Oh, I don’t know, we already have the lineup planned.”
