People murmur, others give their opinions, and I try to focus, but my patience thins every second. I feel like something bad is about to happen, something I can’t stop, and the anticipation sits heavy in my stomach. I grip the table edge and breathe slowly through my nose, hoping to ground myself, but my pulse just keeps picking up without warning.
