I pulled my gaze away from Astrid and looked at him again. “Beau,” he said. “Beau Draven.” The sound of his name was powerful enough to make me forget about the woman across from me. Rage pounded under my skin as my heart took off at a sprint. The man who’d had my brother killed had already been on my list for years. I’d traded Astrid for it. For nothing. “I know you’ve wanted him dead for a while—to no success.” My eyes focused on his face. “The only way you’re going to find him is through me.”

Lillia asked, remembering the unnatural space she had fought for her life. “From The Hollow. You have been there before… twice.” Anubis paused and looked up at Lillia. “When she went crazy and tried to kill me. I was pulled into a dark place that reeked of death and decay, and I saw her in there.” Lillia explained quickly. “The second time was when I touched her body, but this time, something blocked me.” Anubis blinked, then without a word, she began crushing the contents in the bowl with a mini pestle, after which she began muttering more words in a language Lillia did not understand.

"I had no idea! Eric, you never told us your wife was so beautiful!" Lisa's smile looked like it was carved from stone. The businessman chatted for a few more minutes before moving on. As soon as he left, Eric grabbed Nyla's elbow and pulled her aside roughly. "What the hell is wrong with you?" he hissed. "Why are you really here?" You want to know why I am here? Nyla thought. Because I died. Because you and that snake Lisa murdered me and smiled while I bled out. Because I came back from death itself to make sure you pay for every single thing you did to me.

I get out while running, and Zek looks at me, baffled. "What, Alpha, you’ve gone insane?" he says, cut off by Andricia’s growl roaring through the woods. "Zek, do it now!" Zek flies through the air and makes contact with my jaw. He packs a punch, and I’m glad he will be protecting my little mate. Anubis pushes through, baring his teeth and snarling at Zek, who instantly drops to submission. ‘What the hell is going on?' Anubis roars through my head.

They actually wanted to kill me! If that were the case, I would not show them mercy either. I called Lucius’s cousin in the middle of the night and invited her over for a few days. Anubis stands up and walks over to her putting his hands on the side of her head. "Unfortunately for you, you won't live long enough to see that happen." At that very moment, he twists her neck with enough force to break it. With another quick motion, he rips her head off. Her body falls limp to the floor with a thud, blood still dripping from the decapitated head that he still holds in his hands.
