She'd been talking about him nonstop for months now and I knew she was very much in love with him. God, I couldn't believe this. On one hand, I could tell her that her boyfriend was a douchebag and that we'd had sex but that would break her heart and it would be my fault on the the other hand it I decided not to say anything, I'd be letting a douchebag like Collen have his way with my best friend. I ran my hands through my wavy blonde hair and groaned in frustration as I stared at my reflection above the vanity. My eyes were puffy with all of the crying I did last night and my hair was a complete mess.

I asked again. “ There's certainly no love lost between us, so why are you hell bent on forcing me into a friendship? I'm doing everything I can think of to avoid it.” She was quiet for a couple of minutes as she appeared to mull this over in her mind and try to figure out an answer for me as well as for herself. “Because I know what it feels like to be alone and without a friend,” she finally said. “ And I also know how grateful I would have been to anyone who tried to reach out.”

" You are my best friend... " " Yes, I am your best friend... That's what I am. Nothing more nothing less. Ok, I am fine with it. Now please leave me alone. " He said. " No!! You are the most Important person in my life, who gave me unconditional love. I love you, I don't want any misunderstanding between us. " I said. " There is no misunderstanding. I saw what happened. I don't want to talk about it. Please leave me alone. I need to sleep after packing my bag." He said firmly.

This was for us. My smile widened, filled with a love so profound it hurt. "I am in a relationship with the only man I have ever truly loved," I declared, my voice resonating with every ounce of my soul. "With the man who loves me despite my imperfections, despite my past mistakes, despite the terrible things I have put him through. The man who sees me as who I truly am, not the image I project. He sees the real Damien, and he loves him anyway. I am in love with my best friend, my confidant, my soulmate..." I paused, my voice thick with emotion, the name a sacred whisper on my lips, "Adrian Gabriel Raines."

"Like I'd ever be that fuckin' stupid. Man would somehow blame me for it, then go hunt down the poor kid." Honestly? Fair. Gray probably would kill a teenage McDonald's employee over me offering titties in exchange for fried potatoes. Which really should not sound as weirdly romantic as it does. I finally open the bag. The smell hits me instantly—hot grease and salt wrapping around my soul like emotional support in edible form. God bless McDonald's. I shoot a fry into my mouth and practically moan. "Okay, wow," I mumble around the bite. "You're officially the best person I've ever met."

“Relax. I didn’t say you like him. I said he gets under your skin. Which, honestly, is his favorite pastime. He does it to everyone.” “Yeah, but with me, it feels like he’s trying extra hard,” I muttered, stabbing at the countertop with my finger. Liv gave me a pointed look. “And you rise to the bait every single time. He loves it.” I groaned again, burying my head in my arms. “Great. So basically I’m fueling his ego.” “Basically.” I peeked up at her with a glare. “Remind me again why I’m friends with you?”

“Didn’t expect you to actually go there, though. Mirabel’s best friend? That’s playing with fire, even for you.” I didn’t smile. “It’s not just ‘going there.’” The words came out heavier than I intended. Hayes’s grin faded into something more serious, more attentive. He waited, letting the silence stretch until I filled it. “I like her,” I admitted, my voice low. “More than like actually. She’s… different. Been different since that night three years ago at the Loungefield gala. I never forgot her, I couldn’t. And now she’s best friends with my daughter. When she looks at me, it’s like everything I thought was dead inside me wakes up again.”

Yeah, for me, that’s the best feeling. And that person to me, is Lucas Rodriguez. He’s someone I grew up with, we were practically birthed in the same neighborhood. We’ve known each other all our lives, and the bond between us was bigger than what most siblings could have.

I Just hope that our love for each other really does last forever . "I Love you Lena ,I. love you more than I could ever have imagined .I never thought that after being Betrayed by friendship and even family I could still meet someone that can love me more than I have even loved myself . This is just something that I never thought could happen .
