She's been dying to check it out and since Dave is too busy to go with her, she asked me to come with her. I almost forgot about it. I have taken a liking to reading novels. I guess that is what happens when you are left alone in a huge house with next to nothing to do. I haven't been so idle in a long time. Not doing anything makes me anxious. So, I have to constantly do things. Be on my feet, working.

In fact, the pile of my words can be categorised as rambling. Well, I loved reading newspapers, inspirational books, classics and most importantly, novels. Love stories are a key to my heart and a fuel to my imagination. I was teased by the name 'reading maniac' because I could literally read anything. All I need is a piece of writing. Though this habit is considered ‘boring’ by my friends, but I like it so, I do it and I have no regrets or problem in being called a ‘boring person’.

Sprinted to the door, I pulled it open, not expecting it to open, but it did, causing my heart to swell in joy. Ambling to the shelf, my eyes darted round the various book covers. Fiction was my favorite book to read because the best thing about reading was to be able to escape from your life, to be able to read hundreds or even thousands of other lives. Non-fiction does not have that power, it does not change you the way fiction does. To me, if you are not affected somehow, even if it is the slightest change, you are not reading the right book. I would love to think that every novel I have read has become a part of me and created who I am in a sense.

“Perhaps I’ll do that. What do you do for fun? And you can’t say study, as that doesn’t count.” I sigh, glancing out of the window. “I love to read.” He smiles. “What’s your favorite novel of all time?” I scrunch my brow, struggling to pick. “That’s a tough question. I love Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.” I see him roll his eyes at that. “But I enjoy all genres, not just romance.” I shrug. “What is it you enjoy?” I ask, interested in learning about the enigma of a man.

“The novel’s title is Shocking Shocked, and it tells the story of a guy who was electrocuted after disclosing shocking news?” I bit the bottom of my lip. “Well... It’s one of my favorite novels.” She slapped herself across the forehead. “Dainty! We should not read novels like these. I assumed you were interested in romantic novels, so I let you read books, and then I’ll know that you’re reading about terror and murder novels?!” My mouth was closed. What can I do if I’m not a fan of romance novels? Horror, mystery, and psychological stories are my favorite, and not romance. When I read a romantic novel, my whole body convulses. They simply do not appeal to me.

That's all. Last night, I read one of Anya's favorite novels. How did I know? She has this cute habit. For things that become her favorites, she'll have duplicates. Like this novel. One is neatly wrapped and in perfect condition, sitting on her bookshelf among her numerous other novels. When I bought the bookshelf, she said it wouldn't be enough.

I nodded my head. “Omg! I love the book so much. It’s so unique and out of the world. Have you read this before?”. She continued with her excitement. “Nope! It’s my sixth time reading but I can’t get enough of it.” I responded now that I am more free with her. The truth is if you want to bring me out of my shell, use novels as your bait. My friends back in Australia used to tell me that I can be kidnapped by being lured by novels. I laughed at what they said although it’s very much possible.
