I Read Comic Books Novels & Stories

With that done, I headed off to book a seat at TGI Fridays for later in the evening. With that done, I headed to the comic shop and got myself a few comics to read and a cute little keyring. I wasn’t a huge comic book fan, but I enjoyed a few mangas here and there depending on the plotline they had. Berserk was probably one of my favourites, but the volumes were always bulky so I usually ordered them instead.

He saw Treasure Island and Ivanhoe, Tom Sawyer and Robinson Crusoe. He shook his head, trying to remove some of the negative thoughts rattling around in there. He had feared the worse for Lucas but the image on the flickering wall had given him some hope, as slim as that may have been. He paced the room, and happened across a small pile of comic books, Lucas’ other passion, and when he saw the cover of a Justice League edition, his mouth fell open with a small gasp. “At last,” Patience said in his ear. “We have life.”

My shopping experience there was amazing, and I even see myself probably visiting there whenever I need to treat myself to a comic getaway. The elevator dings, and the doors slide open. After stepping out of the elevator with my Chinese takeout in one hand, and the bag of pencils, gloves, socks, and the new comic books I got from the bookstore in my other hand, I begin walking to my condo unit. The thought of meeting Leo inside gnaws at my guts, filling me with the same instant anger that once flooded my veins about a couple hours ago after I met him and that Maddie girl clinging and playing around with each other.

"So you're also a Marvel fan." Tessa said. "What's your favorite MCU movie?" "I love Iron Man, I actually used to read the comics when I was younger." I admitted, and but my lip. I never told anyone I read comics, out of fear they'd think I was weird. "But not a ton, just Iron Man and the Hulk." I quickly saved myself. "I used to read the comics, I still have a ton of them in a box somewhere." Tessa said coolly, and I rolled my eyes. Of course, she read comics. Of course. I could tell that I was in for a treat, so I took a final swig of my coffee, before responding with a no. The rest of that morning, Liam taught me of these legendary comic books, and their basic plots, trying to get me invested in them. It was interesting to see Liam lighten up and loosen up a bit, acting like an excited nerd rather than a composed historian. It was a nice change of pace for him, and something I was looking forward to seeing more.

I had a book abandoned in my lap, one of the frivolities that Colt indulged me in. Turns out there was a book store in this town and not just any book store. It had comic books in them as well. Well judge me not but that was what I was reading right now. An Archie comic. A classic apparently. I day dreamed again, leaning my head against the wall I rested on a I thought of a good name for my child.

She had to admit she was curious what he was like in his natural habitat as opposed to when he was putting on airs too. “Yes but I’m a comic fan in general. Marvel, DC, Dark Horse…whatever’s good. For most of my life I couldn’t be bothered to read if it wasn’t a comic book or graphic novel but that changed in college,” Mark said with a shrug. That was surprising. She supposed she had thought he was a fan of the Marvel movies and nothing else. There were a lot of fans whose sole exposure was through the rather comprehensive cinematic universe. He was old school if he read a wide variety of the comics that inspired them.

I found myself wanting to know more about the guy. And so I started reading his comics, he opened my eyes to a whole new world. I never really read books in english. Translating everything in my head to english every time I need to communicate is stressful enough, reading would take twice the effort, read something in english, then translate it in my head, it didn’t seem worth the effort. Until I started reading his comics. He’s a genius. A talented one. I couldn’t get enough. With every series I read, I searched for the next one, until the bookstore I found started keeping the series I hadn’t read yet for me, all of them from him.

Kelly mentioned that Martin was taking up his master. "Ugh. Stressful." He chuckled. "That's the reason why I work part-time at Aunt Rory's shop. Being surrounded by books and comics relaxes me." I curiously raised my brow. "What's your favorite?" "Mystery books. John Grisham, Agatha Christie, and the likes." He smiled. "But I'm more into comics. I have a collection of Marvel comics in my apartment." My eyes widened in surprise. "You're a Marvel fan?"

They were not words I recognise, and don’t even get me started on trying to say them! So in all, I have come to the conclusion that my mate is a genius. And I stopped looking at her textbooks, and her coursework because it made me feel thick as fuck! Besides, I prefer to read comic books. Yeah, forever a big kid me, and I doubt I would ever change. Thankfully, Esme doesn’t seem to mind. Strangely, she seems to like comic books too.
