Chapter 8 – The Weight of Tension Elena’s morning started like any other—alarm at six, a quick shower, and her usual routine of strong coffee and a hurried glance over her emails. Yet even this familiar rhythm couldn’t shake the memory of yesterday’s tension with Damon. He was impossible to ignore, like a shadow lurking in her peripheral vision, even when she tried to focus solely on work.

She could not afford to anger him. “I…I am sorry,” she rushed, dropping her gaze. “I didn’t mean to annoy you. I just don’t want to be a burden.” “Do you apologize this much?” He asked. The question startled her. She looked up and froze. His blue-gray eyes caught her off guard, sharp and intense, pulling her in before she could stop herself. The longer she stared, the harder it became to look away. “Are you done ogling?” He said dryly. Heat rushed to her face. She quickly turned away, scolding herself. What was she doing? Staring at her step-sister’s boyfriend like that, how inappropriate could she be? She had no right to even stand this close to him, let alone get lost in his eyes.

I murmur under my breath, clenching my fists at my sides as I push down the storm of emotions threatening to spill out of me. "Damn, you for making me fall in love with you."

I feel special when you always buy me things that I only see but don’t say. I can read your heart, Magnus. It’s in your eyes. The moment I said I Love you, I wasn’t that drunk to not know what I was saying. I meant it. I wanted to say it sober but I chose alcohol, because they say a person is more honest when its alcohol running in their system.

I sat in the driver seat and reversed the car, then drove speedily to the nearest hospital in the community. Wasn't it too great? I have a headache. Before that I was thinking of having a rest. Now I have to manage to get myself into an accident. Yes it was an accident, I just couldn't tell the police that she fell from the sky because it is impossible and unbelievable.

But falling in love is like getting drunk, you wake up with a horrible hangover and swear you'll never drink again but you know deep within that you'll take a shot once again and it may sound pathetic but I trust love one more time and always one more time. So for you, yes YOU, if you ever want to fall for me, I will think about you a lot and it will surely feel like going on a roller coaster. I'll get butterflies from the highs and lows that you'd take me on. My head will get dizzy from the turns and jumbled signals you'd try to tell me and I will feel a rush and I will be running out of breath when you walk towards me but that's how I'd feel when I'm in love with you.

AVA You know one thing about falling in love, is it makes you do a lot of things you really don't wanna do. It's crazy and for some awkward reasons I've never been in love. I don't even care much about men because I guess I was pretty busy thinking of pockets to pick from. I look out the glass walls of the cafe as I watch this couple walks by. They look happy or they're pretending to be happy.
