I need to get out of here, cou'z I know the more we talk is the more I'm getting weaker. "Sit down first let's talk" "We don't need to talk Tagan, so I'll get going" I marched closer to the door to exit. “I miss you” I freaking stiff after hearing those words from him. Is what I heard true? Little by little I face him and I know my expression right now is unexplainable. “What ?!” it’s almost a whisper. He just stared at me and ignored my question, I was waiting for his answer but I didn’t get one.

“Hmm?” “I… I miss you.”

I began “I missed you...” slipped out of his mouth. We both froze. I stared at him. He stared at me. His eyes widened slightly as he realized what he had said. My breath hitched, my entire body going still.

He fell to the ground, and I yelled, “That's for getting all romantic with that other girl and making me all depressed!" “What are you even talking about? What other girl?” He asked as he got up from the ground. “Never mind! It doesn't really matter at this point,” I said, pushing out a sigh. He stood up straight and smiled at me. “I don't know what that was all about, but fixing two and two together, I can tell you really miss me. So, I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you in my absence,” he said. My face grew a little pink as he spoke. I turned away from him and murmured to myself, “I never said I missed you."

I miss him so much. "I miss you," I whispered softly to him.

“For me.” I hear him breathe in and breathe out. “I will try,” he says. “Tomorrow night. I promise.” “Good,” I say. “I will hold you to it.” He laughs again. It is small and warm. “You always do,” he says. We stay quiet for a moment. Just breathing. The rain taps on my window soft and steady. “I miss you,” I say. The words slip out quietly. I hear him gulp “I miss you too,” he tells “Greater than I believed I would.”

I lied, I did tell her that I'll be around here and I didn't want to go anywhere with him. "Okay, we can stay here," he says taking a seat, and I do the same, there were no chairs around here, just tree trunks and some big rocks for us to sit on, it's a wood after all. "How have you been?" I ask him. "I missed you a lot, all I could think of was you, and it made me so sad," he says with a big pout. "How does this work?" I ask him pointing to us two. "What work?" he asks me confused.

“But I don’t have to show up today. Not unless I want to. And today, I don’t want to go.” My stomach flipped. “Why?” “I missed you,” he said quietly, simply. No theatrics. Just truth. I smirked, a reflex to hide the heat in my chest. “You were here all night.” “Yes,” he said, smiling, “but not like this.” The words hit me harder than I expected. Not because of what they said, but because of how he said them—like there was an entire conversation happening in the space between the syllables, like he was confessing without confessing.

" I didn't know what to say. So I just held him.

But it looks like you don't miss me,* he sounded sad. "No! I miss you, Ale. I'll come visit during vacation," I said. He sighed through the phone. *I met our Moms, they miss you so much,* he said. I sighed. I miss them so much. Like, it's either I go or they come. *I got a call from the hospital. Your teacher was admitted to the hospital. Apparently, she collapsed on her way back home,* he sighed sadly. What the fuck did he just say.
