Moon Bound With You
“All clear so far. But there’s chatter in the outer wards. Keep your senses open.”
Rowan’s hand brushes mine briefly, just a fraction, as if to steady me. Bond responds immediately, warm, insistent. I glance at him. He meets my gaze, a subtle acknowledgment passing between us.
“Thanks,” I murmured.
“Don’t mention it,” he says. Voice low. Private. Not for her ears.
Mara leaves, and we continue walking. The bond lingers, a quiet hum, a tether neither of us is ready to sever. Snow falls heavier, coating our coats, our hair. My hands itch to reach for him, to let the tether become something more tangible.
