##Chapter 4: Cassidy Book One: Stay A low groan rumbles its way from deep within the mountain of pillows and blankets. "I don't feel good," the voice croaks. "I think I have the flu." I snort with about as much derision as I can muster. "What you technically have is called the twenty-four-hour booze flu," I singsong gleefully before yanking open the thick, ugly blue curtains covering our dorm room window and allowing bright sunlight to filter in.

Not completely. My naked body might have been pressed to his, but there was still a lot between us. So much I didn’t know. The most pressing of those questions was about the cuts. He didn’t mention the press conference or the cuts at all tonight, but it was never far from my mind. Blake kissed my forehead, his thumb stroking my hip. “Stay with me tonight, will you?” My eyelids were already heavy, and truth be told, leaving was the last thing I wanted to do. “Yeah. Yes, I’ll stay.”

As he was laughing behind me, I smiled a sincere one. It was almost midnight and Ed was busy in his phone. We told Anna and the others about our flat tire. They offered to come and pick us but we refused and decided we'll meet tomorrow morning. I was reading a book that was on my side-table; "If I Stay" by Gayle Forman. It was a romantic story. I glanced at Ed every few minutes or so. A question struck my mind and I closed the book, with my index finger inside from the top on the page I was on. "You said you have dated girls' right?" I asked.

I was done messing up. I closed the book gently and whispered into the empty room… “I’ll stay. Always. No matter what.” Then I added again, voice stronger but simple… “You opened your door to me. So I’ll guard it with my life.” No matter what storms assemble. No matter what wars knock. No matter who undresses in his office again. I wasn’t running anymore. I was staying. And staying doesn’t need complex grammar. It just needs a body that refuses eviction from a heart that already signed the lease in blood.
