She gave a signal to the boy to lead the way. “Stop struggling,” Latina whispered to Azrene’s ears. The latter nodded her head. “Let me carry you until we reach the village. It’s safer to leave fewer traces.” “Quick,” the boy flicked his head to the side. There was a giant tree with beautiful orange leaves sparkling in the moonlight. It stood out among the other trees in the forest because of its mystical beauty. The boy stepped on its roots and his foot disappeared. Not literally, but Latina and Azrene could no longer see it while the rest of his body parts remained visible.

The second thing I noticed was the smell. Iron. Smoke. And… sweetness, that I couldn’t just place, more like rotting fruit. And the third thing? We weren’t alone. Figures moved in the distance, silhouettes against the skyline. The very tall towers pierced the fog, and black stone bridges stretched between them and intertwined. She didn’t care much for mortal affairs beyond what her job required her to know. Lisa circled over the building and landed gently on the roof. She wasn’t worried about anyone seeing her; mortals couldn’t see reapers unless the reaper wanted to be seen. There was a glass dome in the center of the roof, made from green, transparent glass. One side of the dome had a giant hole in it, as though something heavy had been thrown through it. Lisa approached the hole and jumped in, tucking her wings to avoid the jagged edges.

Haldir asked as his eyes darted around his rickety hovel. Michael gave Haldir an apologetic look of understanding because he'd had a similar gift bestowed on him many, many millennium ago. "You will live among the Others in their world. Since you can never really be like them because you were born of human blood, the gods gifted you immortality.
