In His Eyes Novels & Stories

"You think I forgot how this works?" Something shifts in his expression, not anger, not quite. Something older than that. Something that has been waiting. And then, barely above a whisper: "They look like me." The words land between us like something dropped from a great height. I swallow. Keep my voice steady. "They don't." But he isn't listening. He's staring through me, at something beginning to break loose from where he's buried it. "One of them," he says slowly. "His eyes. I've seen them before."

My lips parted when our eyes met. His eyes are like two shimmering pools of gunmetal blue, their almond shape adding an air of mystery to his gaze. They possess a captivating glow, as if they hold a secret that only the darkness can reveal. These eyes are not just ordinary; they are extraordinary. They draw you in, making it impossible to look away. I swallowed nervously, determined not to let his intense gaze overpower me. With a swift and forceful kick, I managed to free my leg from his grasp. The pain made him cursed.

"Kill me and let's get this over with." He stays silent and keeps looking me deep in the eye with so much hate and anger. Never has he ever looked at me this way. It's so strange, but that's not the only strange thing about his eyes. They look different and that's when I notice his eyes aren't the way they used to be, they're black, like Sean's. No, not like Sean's. They're completely black, every part of his eye. What is this? What is going on? I look away from him to Sean and see it's the same thing, black. Every other person is far away, and I can't possibly see their eyes in the dark, but something is not right. Something's definitely off. What could it be? What's going on?

He held a vicious glint and blood lust while hers, terror. Green against the grey. And just like that his eyes held hers and stared into her green eyes. He goes blank as he looked at the teen in his arm. Her teary eyes looked into his as if she had accepted her fate. His grey eyes widened slightly, clearly mesmerized by the beauty of her green orbs. His eyes make a quick assessment of her face. Tiny freckles scattered all over her nose and by its sides. Those small brown dots on her face looked clear as fresh tears kept constantly rolling down her face. Her cheeks flushed and red. She had a small pointy nose.

His brows were furrowed as he was experiencing a bad migraine. He pulled Avery into his arms and stared at her face with his bloodshot eyes.

When I stare at those beautiful pairs of eyes he possesses, I can see the fears and care in his eyes this Time around. "Get the fuck out of the way. I need to leave."

"And you? What about your eyes? Who are they on?" He chuckled softly, his smoldering gaze holding hers. "You already know who."

His vision was laser focused on me! "Was I talking to you? No. I was talking to Evelyn. I expect more from her!" He cut him off, glaring at me with those ice blue eyes that could freeze a lesser woman. Those eyes do something to me... I wondered, absently, what they would look like if they were softer and sweeter... If his sharp jaw decided to relax into a smile... But that is a stupid thing to think about. It would never happen!

He tenderly brought her hand to his mouth and gently kissed it. Pain seared through my body as my eyes lost focus. The faces of my family blurred until I could no longer see them. I tried to move my arms to rub my eyes, but I was unable to move. Panic set in as I began to struggle. Finally, opening my eyes, James Cooper’s face came into focus.

"Give me your eyes." I obeyed immediately but did not look him directly in the eyes. I looked at his nose because I was afraid of the storm in his eyes. "Look into my eyes." How could he command that? I could not. What does he want to see in my eyes? The hurt? The pain? Does he enjoy seeing them now? Does he still think I am a threat even after I apologized and told him that I had never meant to wish him dead?
