A Christmas Melody

A Christmas Melody

“I guess I should go on to choir practice.” “Are you going to be able to sing today?” his concerned wife asked. “They might hear that cough of yours and send you right home.” “I’m fine,” he assured her, but as he rose to throw his plate away, Melody wondered just how sick the man might really be. “I’ve heard of man flu,” Mrs. Gregory began, mostly addressing the other married woman at the table, “and when that man gets sick, it is the exact opposite. I swear he could have pneumonia and still report to work like it’s nothing.”

My Shadow Mate

My Shadow Mate

“Oh yeah? And what else?” “Uh, water? You can boil water, can’t you?” “Fuck all of you. I’m gonna cook for dinner.” “No thanks, we’re good. No need to overwork yourself.” “I said I’m gonna do it, and so I am.” “And suddenly I don’t think I’m gonna make it.” “I’ll be sick on that day, so I can’t make it.” “What? That’s not how calling in sick works, Stanley? You can’t call in sick in advance. You have to wait and call in sick on that day. Preferably that morning.”

His Brother's Bride To-Be

His Brother's Bride To-Be

“Roman, listen to yourself.” “I don’t need anyone handling my affairs without permission.” “And I don’t need to be blamed for you getting sick,” she shot back. “You think I enjoyed watching you shake like that this morning.” I scoffed. “You should have woken me." “You were burning up,” she said. “You could barely open your eyes.” “That has never stopped me before.” She stepped closer, voice lowering. “You are not made of steel, Roman. Anyone can get sick.” “I don’t,” I said automatically.

A Sick Romance

A Sick Romance

Felix continued to try and repair our relationship, much like the sunflowers he’d plant every time we moved to a new place. “Felicity, it’s going to get better. Once you’re well, I’ll take you back home, plant the sunflowers you love, and we’ll paint together again,” he promised. I glanced down at my hand, still immobile. Could I even paint anymore? Felix, sensing my doubt, spoke again with unwavering determination, “It will get better. I’ll make you well, and I’ll make those who hurt you pay for what they did.”

Chasing Broken Destinies

Chasing Broken Destinies

And, god, it is not predictable because yesterday he was fine; today, he cannot move. I honestly, and they say that it is such a strong word, but I hate this illness. It has ruined the man that I love. It has let him stray from a path even before he could choose it. The one thing that I can not give him is health; yes, "In sickness and health," I will be there. But how do you start taking that away?

Claimed by the Fallen King

Claimed by the Fallen King

I glance up at Alexander whose brows are also drawn together. “Sodalis Sickness is when someone in a mate bond does not fully accept the bond, causing their body to slowly shut down. It’s sort of like the opposite of a rejection. With a rejection, the rejected mate has to physically adjust to the rejection, but with the Sodalis Sickness, the mate refusing to fully accept the bond becomes ill because they’re essentially fighting their body.” Concern takes over Alexander’s face. “What can we do to help her?” he asks.

Alexis
I’m really enjoying the story, but I couldn’t help but notice that this author has a lot of ongoing stories so it kind of makes me nervous that it won’t be completed. But it’s OK if I have to make it up in my mind what happens I’ll just do that.

Please don't drag this story out unnecessarily because I just can't do another good story that gets dragged out for monetary reasons. Think about your readers as more than just a wallet and I promise you'll get more readers that way.

Bound by the Moon: Alina's Destiny

Bound by the Moon: Alina's Destiny

I replied, my voice flat, keeping my eyes glued to the budget report. “I hear you’ve been unwell,” he continued, his tone was laced with concern but there was an smug satisfaction beneath.“Mate sickness is a terrible thing. It’s almost as if the Goddess intends for us to be together, and fighting Her will causes physical suffering.” “It’s a mild flu,” I lied, slamming the book shut. The lie sounded weak even to my own ears. He chuckled. “A flu that smells suspiciously like the need for a good, solid claiming, Alina. One that requires a firm hand and a deep connection to cure.”
