Not literally—but the presence that emerged had a way of commanding space, as though even nature itself gave it room to pass. A tall figure stepped forward, barefoot and silent, gliding over the forest floor like he weighed nothing at all. The sunlight caught on his skin, impossibly smooth and pale, like carved marble dusted with gold. His eyes were molten, glinting like honey with a heat that didn’t warm, only warned. An Incubus. “Relax,” the Incubus said, his voice rich and smooth, like warm smoke curling through a closed room. “If I wanted to hurt you, you’d already be dreaming. But even if I want to, I can’t physically, as my body is not entirely here.”

She came anyway—three times, each one harder, each one pulling the connection tighter. By the fourth edge, she was crying, hips bucking desperately into her own hand, whispering “please… please stop…” even as her body begged for more. The incubus answered, voice velvet and cruel, now clearer than ever: *“Poor blind little thief. You stole from the wrong demon. I’ve marked you now. Every time you come, I get closer. “Daddy!” I crouched before she could slam into me, catching her up in my arms. She smelled like crayons and sunscreen. Her smiles were brighter than the sun, and she looked just like a miniature version of me. She has dark curly blonde hair, and my unusual golden and silver pupils. Mum said I hit the jackpot, and I feel like I did. She has been my good luck charm for five years now. “I thought I wouldn't see you again,” she said against my neck. “Carissa said you don't love us anymore! She said you've abandoned us.”

Shoving his hand away I growled, “Watch your tongue, Faro! If my heart starts beating, I will be brought back to hell to face Lucifer, and he will cast me into a fiery pit.” Rolling his eyes Faro exhaled deeply and said, “Lucifer has plenty of other incubus to feed him energy. You're not that special, Eros. You just tried to screw his daughter Rebekah on her wedding night…oh shit I guess he would still hold a grudge.” “I don't even care about that. I enjoy being here. I don't have any worries except now for Kryoz and that female that makes me feel strange,” I complained, making him shake his head at me.

I glanced around, searching for him, but he was nowhere in sight. “E-Ezekiel? Are you here?” My voice came out shaky as I pushed myself up. I moved carefully, my hands instinctively cradling my lower abdomen. I had to be extra careful for the baby. Taking a deep breath, I turned on the lights. The moment the room illuminated, my breath caught in my throat. My eyes widened in horror. Drag marks. Dark, disturbing stains smeared across the living room floor, forming a trail that led deeper into the mansion. My stomach twisted painfully.

"Good girl. Bye, bye and I wish you good luck finding a new mate that's if anyone's willing to mark you." I let out a soft laugh, trying to put on an unbothered expression yet I can't take the provocation that threatens to break me apart. "Hey, couples." I snap my fingers and the two turn around to face me, their breaks scrunching up. "I wish your new mate gets fucked by a donkey and the pictures spread all over the internet, Ryker." Gasps erupt in the room and I raised my chin, a proud smile tugging at my lips.

I interrupted him directly, "No! I won't go back with you. This is my home. Also, I already have a mate. Stop bothering me." James abruptly looked at me, his pupils widening in shock. "What did you say?" Ryan strode over and took my hand calmly. The scent of his mark on me emanated undisguisedly. "Alpha, today is a big day in which Emma and I become mates. I won't hold your nonsense against you, but please leave our house immediately." James was stunned for a moment before answering, "This joke isn't funny at all." "I'm not joking, Alpha James. Ryan has marked me. We're mates now."

I leaned in close, using the glass like a mirror and tilted my head. There it was.. a small fresh mark on the lower side of my neck, right where it met my shoulder. It looked like a bite but deeper and more permanent.. a mate mark?! My eyes went wide. What the actual heck? The girl left the queue and sneaked to the front door of the club. The pimp that allows people to enter seemed to be in an argument with one of the customers. The pimp was distracted and it seemed to be an advantage to the girl as she took of the opportunity of sneaking into the club through the door.
