Kaiden’s Point of View The blood surged through my veins like a storm, a relentless tide that threatened to drown me. I could feel it thrumming beneath my skin, pulsing with a dangerous rhythm that demanded destruction. My breaths came in jagged pants, each inhale sharp and painful.

The syringe slowly sucked up the mysterious liquid, filling the clear chamber. My eyes locked onto the medicine, a sudden wave of suspicion hitting my mind. The fluid inside the tube wasn't clear or translucent like normal medicine; it was a thick, milky white color that looked incredibly heavy and strange. Veronica stepped closer to the edge of the bed, gently peeling back the heavy white sheets to expose my bare leg, right below the fresh bandage around my thigh. Without a second of warning, she precisely drove the sharp needle straight into my skin, pushing the thick white liquid deep into my muscles.

Sweat beads every inch of my skin as if a fire is inside working its way out. I rip my shirt off and wiggle out of my pants to cool down only it doesn't help. My heart pounds again this time, if possible, even harder than the last. I can see the outline of it against my chest. My eyes widened in awe at the unexplainable occurrence happening. The burning rises to an unbearable level as I scream and wither on the ground. My veins feel like molten lava is pooling within them instead of blood. They pulse so hard the blue veins are pressed under my skin as if trying to escape me.

I feel scratching to the door of my mind, like something is trying to get in. Opening my eyes and looking down at my wrists, the blood flow has slowed, nearly stopped. Hu? I think to myself, shouldn't I be dead them? As I stare at the blood colecting by the drain, I notice something isn't right, my blood, there's something weird about it, its darker than it should be and what is that? Quickly, I reach up and turn the shower off, before the water can wash away any more off my blood. With the water off I examine the foreign substance that was in my veins. As I look down at my arms, I find my veins glowing blue. Instead of getting surprised, I find myself staring at them until the color becomes brighter.
