The image of Luna Tina's body, on the floor, in a pool of blood was one of the scenes that played in my nightmares over and over again. The distressed and horrifying look on both alpha Jerry and Christina's face was etched in my mind, fuelling my nightmares. In some of my nightmares, alpha Jerry would yell at me, say all sorts of profanities to me. In one, he killed, using a sword to stab through my chest.

Lucian woke up in the middle of the night, covered in sweat and out of breath. His heart was beating wildly inside his chest and his eyes were filled with tears. He had the same nightmare he had every night, where his brother killed him over and over again. It never ended, the pain and the suffering, even after he woke up.

The nightmares returned three weeks after the festival. Kai woke in the darkness, his body drenched in sweat, his heart pounding against his ribs. The image of his sister's face lingered in his mind, her eyes blazing with hatred, her hands reaching for their son. He gasped for breath and clutched the sheets, trying to ground himself in the present. Darius woke instantly, his hand finding Kai's shoulder in the dark. "Kai. I am here. You are safe. It was just a dream."

I could sense he was already drowning under heavy sleep and I couldn’t think anymore, my eyes shut under the strong pull of darkness. It was past midnight when a nightmare jolted me awake, my breath ragged in sudden panic. In my nightmare, I saw Kieran’s stone face, his bloody eyes locked on me as we both were standing at a cliff’s edge. There was something hidden in his murderous eyes and I could see he was going to strangle me with his outstretched hands. I gasped, my wolf howling and my hands clutching the blanket. The room was now completely dark, the candle snuffed out long ago. Why the heck had I saw something so horrifying in my sleep!

I raise the knife and plunge it back into his body. His screams fuel me to plunge deeper. Taking it out, I dive it back over and over again. His screams like music in my ears as his blood displays art on my walls and my face. My eyes snap open, my chest heaving as I breathe out heavily. Sweat trickles down my forehead as I take in deep breaths. This is the same reason I hate taking those damn pills; they make me have nightmares. Can't I take a goddamn nap without having that bastard come to taunt me?

Nina I wake up gasping, my throat raw and dry, and my body drenched in sweat. The nightmare still lingers, clinging to me like a second skin. My chest is tight, and I can’t shake the feeling that something’s horribly, horribly wrong. I sit up, wiping my face with the back of my hand, but it doesn’t help. The images from the dream are burned into my mind. Jaxon. His body, lifeless, sprawled across the cold ground. Blood pooling beneath him, his eyes vacant, distant. His mouth… he was calling my name. But he wasn’t alive.

I found myself in an unfamiliar bed, and it jolted me awake. The air was filled with the aroma of food. I looked around and found myself in a clean apartment. My clothes weren't changed, thank goodness. Someone texted me. Samuel. 'Working overtime tonight. Happy Valentine's Day, honey.' I scrolled through TikTok. Samuel probably had no idea that I knew his secret account's details. He had a short uploaded. That bastard was having fun with some ladies. They looked fresh and innocent. He had a good eye for them, I guess.

She was never going to surrender to him; he bought her, but he couldn't buy her life. She was going to make sure she made his life a living nightmare. She was going to make him regret ever buying her and let her go. Yes, he was going to release her himself when he got tired of her. She grinned; he didn't know what he bought. He had just purchased a nightmare, and that nightmare was hers.

Yet, I couldn't grasp the possibility or reason behind these ominous premonitions. One particular night, I was abruptly awakened from a nightmare, my heart pounding in my chest. The dream had been bloody and terrifying, leaving me shaken to my core. As I gasped for breath, my thoughts instinctively turned to the Alpha. It was as though some unseen force compelled me to think of him, to consider the potential danger that loomed over him.

The room was dark when I woke up from thrashing on the bed. I had unconsciously tried to jerk my right leg, and it shot bolts of pain up my thigh and down to my toes. My nightmares were now a mix of the car crash with my family and the one with Kat. I hated it. Kat’s bed stirred. I heard her exhale deeply before the bedside light opened, and a low glow filled the room. “It’s getting worse, Liv. Do you want me to call my brother? You don’t have nightmares when he’s with you.”
