He squeezed my hands one last time before finally letting go, the loss of contact making the air feel suddenly thin. “You don’t have to bribe me, though. I will do anything for you, Ina.”

I frown, “It’s weird.” “He is a professional, Heaven.” She laughs like I’m being dramatic but seriously, Uncle Jax is even more strict than my stepdad is. His kids—my cousins live a very secretive and controlled life, thanks to the man she wants to ink me. “Jaxy has been inking people since before you were born and he is excellent at it, You’ve been talking about that little back tattoo for months so get it done, you’re practically in front of his shop.” She’s right, I will be in front of his shop. The tattoo parlour I was originally going to is across the street from his, they're professionals too, but like mom said, Inked by Jax is the best in the city.

The novel lay open under her hands-wet, crumpled, dog‑eared. He looked at it, then at her. He pulled the book free with one hand, and his own wet fingers brushed between her thighs again, smart with urgency. "One more time?" he rasped. Claire stared at him-ache behind her eyes, voice hoarse. "Yes," she finally breathed. "One more time." He kissed her, deep and rough. Closed the book with his other hand-cover snapping shut with authority. She rode him one more time, skin slick, body trembling, pulses crashing as she came again-slow, powerful, echoing under the hush of books. Rowan groaned and came with her, feeding her tight until he fell forward, forearm over her back, his breath ragged.

It was just too good to be true, I was already finding my answer. My chest tightened as I stared at the screen, my pulse pounding in my ears. Slowly, I clicked on the first folder, the files opened, then the documents and stories, then the chapters. My throat went dry as I scrolled, my eyes moving faster, I was desperate and trying to catch up with what my mind was already beginning to understand. Inked Heart was on every single file and every single chapter, alongside every release. It was all here. My hands trembled slightly as I opened one. The words stared back at me, they were familiar and suddenly it all made sense to me.
