“What do you mean reacting to you? “It’s trying to connect. The creature lunged again. This time It didn’t aim for Zara. It aimed for Liam. And just before it hit. It froze. Mid-air. Suspended. Every muscle in its body locking at once. Samuel. “I have it,” he said. The creature trembled violently. Its golden eyes flickering. Glitching. “…ho…me… Then It screamed. A sound that wasn’t sound. A frequency that tore through the air, through their bones, through their thoughts. Zara dropped to her knees. “Make it stop! “I’m trying!” Samuel snapped. For the first time His voice cracked.

"Okay, okay, easy. I’m just telling you about my favorite event of the day. Relax and keep yourself calm. I’m not sure if you’ll like what I’ll say next…" I think I know what he’ll say. The agency wants me to accept the offer because I’d clearly stated my disgust when it was offered. "Tic wanted you to accept the offer." Tic is short for Terror-In-Closet. The guy that I inadvertently caused a scandalous incident with. I think I’m still absent-minded that I didn’t straighten my facts.

[Juliet's POV] The music at the celebration party continued. Surrounded by a crowd, Alison basked in the crowd's repetitive praises. Suddenly, a deafening boom came from the city walls. Overlapping growls and roars of zombies tore through the atmosphere. Terror erupted instantaneously. People in the crowd screamed, "It's a swarm of zombies! A massive swarm of zombies!" A guard ran over, staggering along the way. "The lightning barrier on the right of the base has been breached. There's a massive gap. Zombies are coming through soon!"

The scream Zack let out wasn't human. It was a jagged, visceral sound that tore through the quiet of the safehouse, vibrating the very marrow in Nathan’s bones. Zack buckled, his hands clawing at the rug, his spine arching in a way that looked like it should have snapped. "You’re doing this," Zack gasped, the words bubbling through a throat that sounded like it was filling with gravel. "Nathan, stop... make it stop!"

Everyone screamed in horror at that loud gunshot. Zoey didn't even realize that Dionysus threw himself at her and covered Zoey's body with his. "Damn it, Zoey! I could have killed you!" But, what happened next finally put some sense inside Zara's mind. The next series of Zamantha's scream made Zoey and Zara forget everything around them. "Mommy!" Zoey pushed Dionysus away to crawl towards their mother and Zamantha. "Zoey! Mommy cannot breathe! Zara! Help, please!" Zamantha was sobbing so hard everyone around her barely understood what she was saying.

Zoya The zombie screeches like a vulture and takes charge with its mouth snapping air. I brace myself for the end, already imagining death's hands around my neck, choking me slowly. I'm a tough girl, but ever since I was forced to kill my sister when she turned, I've suffered PTSD. As a result, whenever I look a zombie in the eye, I'm rendered paralyzed, too traumatized by the memory to act.

SARAH'S POV I sat there in the cold dark alley for quite a while and not even a rat passed by, I was starting to get scared when I heard faint laughter, more like a chuckle from afar. The sound became louder and clearer. It was no longer just the sound of laughter, I could now hear footsteps approaching. The closer they came the clearer their voices, they sound like nice people, I should probably ask them for help. What will I say though, I can't possibly tell them that I'm a vampire princess who came here through a porthole and woke up, then blacked out, then woke up again in a place where I was stabbed with needles and driven away by the smell of blood and somehow ended up here with no one

I can’t move, can’t scream I’m frozen in terror of the thought of living alone like Ash. That’s when I hear a car pull up. I don’t want to see who it is but I dread I know. It’s Zac; he’s just got home from college to find a house of ash and fire. He comes running over to me, while I’m screaming “Zac go back to the car.” “Get back in the car.” Desperately I scream “Go Zac, leave, now.” I yell but it’s useless, he obviously can’t hear the frantic desperation in my voice. I start to run towards him but I’m too late, the monster gets their three steps before I do. It lifts him off the ground

But the instant he turned to leave and try to cross this horrendous place, an oddly familiar scream called him, painfully. His mind had to grasp what he heard was right or not, but there was no denial. The scream was Zadicus’

“What did I do?” The girl in the corner screamed louder, her voice cracking. Akin’s rage surged again, unbidden and uncontrollable. “Stop it!” he shouted. As if responding to his command, zombies poured into the room, their movements swift and purposeful. The girl’s screams were abruptly silenced as the horde descended upon her. Akin stood frozen, his mind racing as he watched the gruesome scene unfold. When it was over, the zombies turned to him, their milky eyes filled with an unsettling awareness.
