Novel & Cerita Iron Druid Audiobook

“Did you not just command me to keep my mouth shut?” “I ordered you to stop talking, female, not to squirm out of my arms like an untamed rogue,” Idris rumbles down at me, his deep voice vibrating straight through my ribs. He tightens his hold until my soaked silver scale-armor is crushed flat against his iron chest, fusing our bodies together so closely I can feel every violent thud of his heart. “You are insane—”

The air was heavy with brine and decay, and somewhere above, the storm raged against the cliffside, indifferent. But Drift heard none of it. Inside his mind, voices churned like a whirlpool—his own, yes, but others, too. Whispering in a language he shouldn’t understand and yet did. Images flickered behind his eyes: a towering figure cloaked in kelp and bone, a hand like a claw brushing a crying child’s face, a spiral carved in flesh and stone. It’s not real, he told himself. But it was. It was.

If I could go back to a few days ago when I received Cyran’s email, I would have packed my bags and left. “It might not be possible for humans, but Dragons have abilities that humans couldn’t dream of. Some of us can read minds, while others have different abilities. It isn’t like I always invade someone’s privacy, but I thought now was the exception.” Kellan moved off the couch he was on and came to sit between Jade and me.

Vair HUR-voom vel LOH-kit VAIR-kee VAH-room. Drake replied in Dragonese, which Asher loosely translated as King Drake commending their loyalty and actions. The Drake stepped forward to address us. “Ek fagna þér, konungr Daemon, ok þinni fríðustu fylgikonu, dróttning Adriana. Þat er ánægjuligt at hitta fjölskyldu fylgikonu sonar míns, he said, his voice loud and deep, commanding respect.

Some maids brought my breakfast and I asked for a medical to reduce my headache, which was brought soon after. The throbbing didn't reduce until after a few hours of sleep. I didn't realize that forcing myself to recollect the body owner’s memories could hurt like this. What about my own original memories about the life where I was Fenrir and not Hawk? Would I ever get those memories back? It was afternoon already, so I set off to the location Rudolph was working on. I bet he should know who Hunter is, since he is a new Alpha too, and if not…Maybe he will know the Moonbound Pack?

'His' large eyes glinting widely like black oil. 'His' lips, if I can call it that, don't move. 'His' voice don’t come from his mouth. But I hear it again, like before, loud and clear. That deep raspy tone that vibrates inside my skull, accompanied with this throbbing pain at the back of my head. "Hello there, Druiss. It’s been a while."

I felt him straining, felt the heirloom’s power throwing him back like a physical wall. “What’s happening?” he shouted, turning back to Grant wide-eyed. But his voice sounded far away. It was as though I was drowning in a well of water and he was screaming from somewhere out there. Grant’s voice suddenly filled my ears, ancient druid words that vibrated in the stone itself. My knees buckled. The dark wolf clawed at the inside of my ribs, fighting to stay, and I felt it slipping – strand by strand, being drawn out of me toward the man who had waited three hundred years.

Astonishment gave way to anger, but fear kept every tongue still. Draven stepped forward, his voice echoing over the silent camp. “Declare that you are a slave,” he said, “and bow to me. Or I will drink your blood.” As he spoke, his body began to shift. His shoulders hunched, muscles rippling beneath his cloak. Fingers elongated into claws, sharp and black. His mouth stretched, revealing fangs glistening in the morning light. Fur bristled along his neck. The air filled with the guttural rumble of his growl.

They all scattered on the dark floor. The Emperor took one notebook, opened it, and read. “The Way of Dragons,” he skimmed the pages. “Fascinating …” Then he handed it to Quarth. “Please … spare my drafts …” Tears started fall on the floor, right under Estevan’s bloodshot eyes. “What’s this?” the Emperor picked another and read. “The Chronicles of Drava …” “No … Not that … please …” Estevan begged. “Not that … Your Eminence …”

“Do you hear that, Raven? The Goddess isn’t listening anymore. She’s tired of your cries. You and your family are cursed.” “Shut up!” I managed to scream, twisting my body just enough to slam my knee into the man’s gut. He grunted, his grip loosening. I wrenched free again and dove for my dagger, snatching it up. Draven’s eyes glinted with amusement. “Ah, there’s the fire I remember. But it’s too late for fire now.” With a flick of his fingers, the guards started morphing into the same hideous creatures we saw outside. This time, I didn't care, I charged at one of them.
