Zoe kept the proceedings going, and I was grateful for that. Connor knelt before my casket, refusing to budge no matter how many people tried to make him leave. They had turned on their front lights again but he stood resolute and looking at him, I couldn't stop admiring how attractive he was and he had a piercing on the left ear and his red eyes that still beamed. His raven black hair which he styled in a suave, tousled manner made him look sophisticated with his black outfit. The more I looked at him, the more I felt my wolf long for his wolf. I bit my lower lips as my eyes met with his full pink lips and the tilt he made with his lips made him looked like a sly, magical fox. "Let's say, you were lucky the other day but what makes you think you'll be lucky today??" Connor scoffed as he held his gun which was still in its holster.

Lisa’s eyes went wide. "Ava? Are you... hiding a stray?" she hissed. "You just broke the bond with that cur Blake, but I know the scent of a dominant male when it hits me. Who is daring enough to mark my Silver Wolf’s territory? Move! Let me see him!" She tried to shoulder her way past, but a massive, scarred hand caught the edge of the door. Connor stepped into the frame, his bare chest a map of power that seemed to suck the air out of the hallway.

His hand brushed my arm and the mate bond started sparking between us again. His eyes were burning with questions and a craving that also looked like pain. Before he could say more, loud howls and yell came from the main gates. The sound shook the whole pack. Damon’s head snapped toward the noise. “Stay here, be calm…” But I followed him.

Black curtly told Connor. The Red Moon Beta didn't understand what was happening to him, but he responded mechanically to the Mad One's order. It was as if his wolf had taken control of their bodies and could not act against their will. "Are you done?" asked Duncan patiently. "Yes," Connor replied, shaking his head at the same time as his eyes returned to their usual appearance. "Perfect. Sorry about that, Connor, but you've already seen enough," Duncan said before knocking out the Red Moon Beta.

Connor said through his gritted teeth in resentment while he was spitting out blood, “I won’t let you off for this. I won’t ever—” Kayson slapped his shoulder and destroyed his muscles with his Novem Lightning Zero Impact. Connor let out an agonizing scream instantly.

"I know what real monsters look like, Connor. You're not one of them." He'd wanted to believe her. God, how he'd wanted to. The floorboards creaked behind him. Connor spun around, his body tensing automatically—another inheritance from his father, the constant readiness for violence. I hope that tomorrow is a little more relaxing! When I woke up in the morning it was an empty place beside me. I must say I was a little disappointed to wake up alone.
