I sighed, as I laid down on the cold and hard, marbled road. “Thank you, Conrad!” I teased. He laughed and replied… “You are not going to let this be, are you?” He inquired. “Not a chance, Connor, not a chance”. I said, with a note of finality. Connor was really a likable person, he just hadn't found his pack, and that made him bitter. Having him in my pack will undoubtedly bolster my ranks, and in him, I have a powerful beta as an ally.

Hijack says as he cuts Arden off, completely disconnecting him from the internet before muting us to call Alpha Nevaeh. “Connor is calling Dad. He’s in Quirin’s pack. Hopefully he’ll answer,” she says. I get the feeling she interrupted her brother and his mate and she’s worried that her father and brother-in-law won’t answer for the same reasons.

One raised its head to the dawn and howled, the sound tearing through Kaelen’s bones. Werewolves. The pack fanned out, circling. There were at least six, maybe more in the shadows. Kaelen gripped the useless remains of his poker before realizing it had melted to slag. He had no weapon. Only the fire inside him, and that was as likely to kill Elira as their hunters. The largest of the wolves padded forward, towering over the others. Its silver eyes locked on Kaelen. “The blood stirs,” it growled, its voice a gravelly rumble that no beast should possess. “He belongs to the Moon.”

He slammed back into Connor with a ferocity that sent them both skidding across the slick mud. Simon and Callum broke through the forest with their warriors pouring in from all sides, overwhelming the Daggermoon wolves in seconds. But Connor needed none of them for what came next. He caught the gray wolf by the throat in one crushing bite and held him through the thrashing. Jake's claws desperately scrabbled on the sodden ground until the fight went out of him completely. Maisie didn't wait to watch. She was already running, pushing toward the ridge to reach her mom's frail form. Connor's wolf was beside her in seconds, signaling the pack's doctor to rush over.

They quickly look around at each other and they give each other knowing looks. “You’ve been outvoted. He’s joining us”, Michelle says proudly. “Firstly, what’s your name and what is your link to Mr. Strongheart”. He pulls up to the seat next to me and starts addressing the group. “My name is Connor, and I work in his security team. My specialty is surveillance and intelligence, so I scope out and gather information to ensure the safety of the team”. Kimberly and Michelle are currently swooning over his words and batting their eyelashes for attention. Willow seems to be deep in thought and analysing his words.

The sensation of being filled by the second twin, the mix of both their loads inside me, hot and heavy and overflowing, makes my walls convulse in aftershocks. He stays buried. Breathing hard. His forehead drops to my chest, resting between my clamped nipples, and for one moment, just one, there’s tenderness under everything. Then Connor produces a chain from somewhere. Thin. Metal. With a cuff at one end and a bolt at the other. He fastens the cuff around my ankle and bolts the other end to the support beam in the corner of the basement. “What are you—”

A scream leaves the guy's mouth and the other two shift. Apparently they aren't from my pack. As if that wasn't obvious to begin with. Connor lets go of the dead rogue and attacks the others. He tackles another and snarls just before he bites into its neck. Once that one was dead, he looked up and saw the last one was running for it. Connor snarled and ran after it. He leaped over it and landed in front of it and snarled again. The rogue backed up and let out a snarl of its own.

Just as he reached for her, Zoe opened her eyes and smiled. "Hello, Connor," He stumbled backward into the arms of one of the waiting lycans. Darina flipped the lights on, and Connor looked around, seeing that he had been set up. He tried to get out of the lycans grasp, but it was useless. One of them slipped a silver collar around his neck before he could shift. "Let me go. You have no right to touch me. I'm the last living Lightning Guardian." Connor said smugly, still believing Ryder didn't know the truth of his birth.

I ask her. “Yes.” “Mind link him,” Hijack says as he cuts Arden off, completely disconnecting him from the internet before muting us to call Alpha Nevaeh. “Connor is calling Dad. That wasn’t the plan.

“Varjo. They’re literally made of shadows and will drain you of your life essence.” An ear-splintering howl sounded in the distance, causing me to jump in shock. Conri nudged me to my feet, allowing me to lean against him. “It’s okay. It’s just Connor.” Conri threw his head back, and a soulful, long howl vibrated through his chest as he answered his beta. It amazed me for a moment that he could make such vicious-sounding snarls and then, moments later, let out a beautiful howl that warmed my core. Moments later, crashing sounded through the woods, and the rest of the pack surrounded us. Cody and Connor stopped near Conri.
