The scream that left my lips was bloodcurdling. I stare at my reflection in horror and almost have the urge to cry. My hair is no longer a fair shade of strawberry blonde but a creamy chocolate brown, my natural hair colour. Oh, shit, shit, shit! I grabbed my bottle of shampoo and dumped its contents into the sink; it wasn’t shampoo. It was bleach. Fuck! How did bleach get in here? Someone must have poured bleach into this bottle, and Kiara was the only one in the room. My blood boiled in such a way that I was certain my skin was turning a bright shade of red. I storm out of the bathroom, but I am met by no one in our room.

She closed her eyes, breathing steadily, relaxed. She was so thin. It hurt to see her like this. Did you add the lemon and Icori Root with the rainwater before adding the Eclipse Orchid?” Sophie asks. I nod, looking down at all the ingredients in front of me.

What a timing because the shooting will be tomorrow. I get it and put it on the mixer. I squeeze its content and put the oxidizing lotion and blend it together. I’ve been wanting to achieve ash gray before. That is the reason why I decided to bleach my hair until to level 10. My mistake is I put first the blue one instead of this. I don’t know what will be the result of this after. “My sister will scold me again,” I said while mixing the mixture of the hair color and oxidizing lotion.

I made the mistake a few times in my first few days, when we were trying to get the house in order. “Shit,” Callan says. “I’ve got to adjust the towels in the washer. She was staring at her wardrobe. Her red gown was crumpled on the floor. There was a massive, dark purple stain of red from the sweetheart neckline all the way down to the waist, but the wine wasn't the worst part. Near the hem, the fabric was bubbling and turning orange. White spots were splattered across the skirt where bleach had been poured. Zoe was standing over the dress, her hands trembling. An empty wine glass lay on the rug, and a blue bottle of bleach was gripped in her right hand.

I watched it closely. For a second, nothing happened. I waited. Then, the liquid began to soak into the fibers. Right before my eyes, the deep black of my shirt began to change. It didn't just get wet. It started to fade. The black turned to a sickly, burnt orange. And then, gradually but fast, it turned to a pale, ghostly white. This was the same. The exact tea that had poured on me that day. The bleaching tea. What is inside this?

I let out a sharp breath and pushed the bedsheet away. “I really thought it was dye, I promise.” I defended myself, though not with much confidence, feeling quite confused. I truly believe that was bleach. I believed it was simply the natural shade of blue that would make it appear whiter. “Take a look,” she said, pulling out the bleach she had brought and opening it for me to see. It is nearly colorless, much like water. I trembled in disbelief; this was worse than anything I had ever experienced.
