As he stepped back, the team worked steadily to unearth the body. Lee and I slipped on our gloves, preparing for closer examination. Bit by bit, more of the body came into view. It was a man, average height, dressed in black pants and a t-shirt that seemed like a uniform shirt, though there was no logo. Over his face and head was a disturbing mask its features twisted into an unsettling, almost ancient depiction of a devil, the material gnarled and dark.
