MARRYING My FATHER-IN-LAW
Wherever Emerson was taking me, I knew one thing for certain—this time, I didn’t mind being stolen away.
He took me to Paris. Paris—the city of love. I couldn't believe it. I turned to Emerson, my voice shaky with disbelief.
"You took me to Paris?"
"Yes, I know," he said, a soft smile gracing his lips. "Do you like it?"
"Like it? I can't believe it. How did you know? I love it." My voice wavered as a wave of emotions washed over me. "It's always been my dream destination. I was planning that when work slowed down, or when we had a child, I would finally come to Paris." My smile faltered, just a little, betraying a flicker of sadness I didn’t mean to show.
