The Golem flinched, blinded for a second. Jack sprinted. He jumped off Ben’s back (who was crouching in terror), using the suit as a springboard. He launched himself into the air. "EAT THIS!" Jack roared. He drove his Cursed Hand directly into the Golem's chest. He didn't just touch it. He pushed. He poured all the hunger, all the rage, all the black ink of the Curse into the stone. The Golem froze. The black obsidian turned grey. Then white. Then dust.

My voice cracked on the words because I was certain that he did love me. Confusion marred her perfect features. “Is he sick?” Because truly, that would be the only other problem. “He's cursed.” I blurted out. “Cursed?” She sounded disbelieving. “Yes, cursed.” I spent the next few minutes explaining Brian's curse, his age, the death of his prior mates, and the future event of my possible death.

A shuffle followed from her end. “I’m sorry, you just said something I’m not aware of,” I shot back. “And I’m sure you understand why I’m asking.” Lena hesitated. “The Goth is the dreaded spirit of the Crimson Circle. It can possess you through your deepest desires. When you said Xavier was lost, I thought you meant that the Goth had possessed him.” “What, no!” “The Goth is the common unionizing spirit of the Crimson Circle members,” Lena continued. “For quite a few years, the Goth hasn’t found a suitable host to make it into the world. Gilda’s expression shifted “ No… no. This cannot be. This can’t be happening. We must do something.” Her voice trembling with power “ Do you hear me Moon goddess? She is the Cursed one! She will always remain the cursed one! None of you’re precious plans will be fulfilled!” The last word thundered through the cavern, and the response came instantly. A blinding white light burst through the orb, flooding every corner of the cave. The runes on the walls flared, then shattered, sending shards of light through the air. The ground shook violently, dust falling like rain. “Aunt Gilda!” Melody screamed, shielding her face.

Shadows flicker red beneath my door now, dancing like cruel spirits. “Run!” The word echoes in my skull. The door bursts inward in a spray of sparks and splintered wood. Flames roar behind a towering silhouette. A man steps through the fire. I cannot see his face — only the outline of him carved in burning light. And his eyes. They glow. Not with reflection. That stone was the only thing that could tame him but not completely. It belongs to the witches who cursed him and was the last one on earth. Gotham managed to find it and that has being his survival secret or he would have being long killed by Jordan. Jordan walked to him and tried reaching out for his neck, but a bright light from the stone shone on his face, forcing him to look away.

I can't let her come in-between my senses of reasoning. I paced to the study room and picked up the book I have on my table. I have not been able to get to another page. I am just at one page ever since. The curse is something I wouldn't love anyone to know about because I don't know how to break it. The curse is a difficult thing and now that she has known, the bond from our fate would act as a catalyst to put us together. I couldn't really concentrate on the book. I will open a page, read small. Before I know it, I am already thinking heavily again.
