You exist outside of his control, and people like him don’t know what to do with that.” Ryan leaned his head back against the glass. “Then maybe it’s time I remind him that he doesn’t belong in my story.” Daniel nodded slowly. “Then we do it on your terms.” And for the first time in weeks, Ryan felt something close to power stir in his chest. He wasn’t the prey anymore. He was the unknown variable Adrien hadn’t accounted for. And that was going to be Adrien’s first real mistake.
