"A he’s a cat shifter", Violet finished looking at the Lycans to further place emphasis on her words. “This is outrageous!” roared a whiskered Lycan. "We cannot let this happen" and he threw Hermione a look of deepest dislike.

As Tyree left the room, Liya took a deep breath, feeling a sense of belonging and purpose. Liya stood in the middle of the inviting room, taking in the soft colors that adorned the walls. The room was filled with gentle sunlight that filtered through the curtains, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The bed was neatly made, adorned with plush pillows that seemed to beckon her to rest.

IVY’S POV I stood in Asher’s office, my hands shaking. The folder was open on the desk, the photographs spread out like accusations. He stepped inside and closed the door. The sound made the room smaller. I stared at him, waiting for him to speak. He didn’t. His eyes moved from the papers to me, calm but unreadable. “What is this?” I asked. My voice came out too loud, too rough. He said nothing. “Asher,” I said again, this time sharper. “Why do you have pictures of my family? My parents, my sister, my grandmother. Even me. What are these doing here?”

Let everything go back to normal. Normal. The word tasted like ash. I turned the water off and stood dripping in the quiet. Steam swirled around me thick and heavy. But I didn’t want normal, all I want is her. And that scared me more than any slap Ethan could throw.

This time, thankfully, Asher, along with his gang had stepped out and the extrovert more than happily answered that question. "She's your sister, Eva. She's Ivory." Evangeline blinked in confusion for a few seconds then gasped. "Ivy, is that really you?" "Just as surprised huh?" Asher started. "I thought she was some big shot celebrity when I saw her." He laughed, but it was clear in his eyes that he was amused, impressed even. "Yeah," Daniel agreed, eyes roaming her body in a way that disgusted Ivory. "I didn't realize that an ugly pig could become so beautiful overnight."

And now I knew she was alive. Or at least, she had been. Her name was Dahlia Renner. She was somewhere in Ashford Hollow. “She’s alive.” The words came out barely above a whisper. I looked at Teo. “She’s alive. Ashford Hollow. My father knew where she was all this time.” Teo went still. “Ashford Hollow,” he repeated. He said it slowly, as if the name itself meant something. “Elias, listen to me.” I waited. “If your father wrote that name down nineteen years ago and never went after her himself, there was a reason. It wasn’t only because he was afraid of leading someone to her.”

“Asher, this child isn’t normal. You know that.” “She’s my child,” he said, voice low and dangerous. “And I won’t let you or Seraphina or anyone else treat her like an experiment.” “She’s more than a child. She’s a power we cannot begin to understand. And if she chooses wrong—if Ivy chooses wrong—she could bring ruin to us all.” Asher narrowed his eyes. “Then maybe it’s not Ivy who needs watching.” And with that, he stormed past her, a new plan forming in his mind.
