There’s a scuffle, followed by muffled voices before his video call cuts off and I laugh at the scene I can’t witness. “I can’t believe you snuck off to call her and left me there! Silence. Then Izzy smiled, stepping closer. “Oh, that’s good. That means we have a fresh start.” She pulled me into a hug. I let her. And then, just as she leaned in, her lips brushing my ear, she whispered, “Our Luna.” I didn’t flinch. I hugged her back with the same force, letting my fingers press just a little into her spine. Two could play this game. Aria and Liz exchanged a glance but remained composed, their expressions unreadable as Izzy finally pulled away, her smirk still in place.
