Jake’s face turns pale, his shock and horror are evident. Karen looks at us both with satisfaction. "This," she says, her voice eerily calm, "is what happens to people who cross me."

“When he was pronounced dead, his finger tips were black and his tongue was shrunken.” Rio smiles. “It’s Adax. It’s a lethal drug, found only on the black market.” Rio says. “I am sorry to be the one to say this, but Jack was definitely murdered.” Even though I expected, I couldn’t control the chills that runs through my body as I grip my dad’s arm for strength. Someone killed Jack. “You don’t seem shocked, Mr. Park.” Rio notices. “You expected it to be murder?”

He hadn’t been burned or buried.” Ty and Rose were in the office of the Shadow Pack sorting out the information coming in finally from many sources.

Chase had not expected to actually reel in a catch. Perhaps sensing that even the Supreme Elder could not save him now, Jasper began to plead for mercy, "I'll talk as long as you spare my life. It was Cap—" He did not manage to finish his sentence. Like the others before him, Jasper's head tilted to the side, and he was dead! Jericho’s knees weakened, and he leaned on the wall. “The Saloon blew into pieces…” He paused, then breathed erratically. “Carmilla is dead and so are the others,” he pointed out. His eyes expressed fear as this was the first time he had seen something so gruesome.

“I think it’s too late. I’m dead.” Gently slipping his fingers out of me, Jack slid up the bed and turned so that we were face-to-face. His blue eyes were dark, an underlying heat simmering beneath the surface. “I don’t know,” he said, his lips quirking. “If this is what it’s like to be dead, I might just take it.”

"We need to take them down, Jack. We can't let them get away with what they've done to us." Jack nodded, his expression serious. "I'll start spreading rumors and misinformation among their pack," he said. "We'll make them doubt each other and turn on themselves." Kiara stood up, a fierce determination in her eyes. "And I'll be ready to strike when the time comes," she said. "We will take our revenge, Jack. And we will make sure the werewolves know not to mess with us again." Together, Kiara and Jack began to make their plans, determined to bring down Alpha Darell and Marcelyn and show the werewolves the true power of the vampire race.
