I knew he wouldn’t really be in a place to do that until we dealt with the Frankie Brothers. "He’s been better. I’m sure he’ll love having some company," the woman offered with a smile. "Visiting hours are open until two p.m." Her voice was conclusive, as if she meant to send us off from her desk with her final statement. Jaxon smiled back and nodded. He seemed so cool and collected. Sometimes I envied his ability to do that, no matter how he felt on the inside. I was certain that everything I was feeling was evident on my face.

Jackson said. Jackson was about to turn his back on the doctor when he remembered to invite him to the engagement party at their mansion tonight. "If you have free time, you can drop by our house tonight at 9 PM" Jackson handed over his calling card. "Thank you for inviting me, Jackson, but unfortunately, I have many patients today. I am sorry to turn down your invitation," the doctor said. "It's okay, doc! See you around!" Jackson walked away to see his dad. ~~~~~

Jackson continued. “Yes sir” Amelia muttered, dropping her eyes. “You will arrive on time and will not keep me waiting. I arrive at the office by 6:30am so you know to arrive earlier and get ready to make my coffee as soon as I enter. You will see inside your drawer, my personal stash of coffee bags and…” Jackson’s voice trailed off as he stared again into her eyes. She was staring at him, waiting for him to continue but he was totally distracted by it “Your eyes” he prompted.

I am already wearing his shirt, no stockings, and just a skirt. “Today, we don’t open until after 4 pm. It gives us time to make sure everything is okay, have staff meetings and sort issues out without clients walking around,” he explains as we walk past all the empty rooms. We walk into a meeting room that is full of staff. Jackson introduces me to the staff who don’t know who I am, and we sit down and discuss what will happen. Sitting, he gives them strict orders to only call me if it is really needed but to make me feel as welcome as him if I come by, and that I am allowed to use the services if I wish, but it is doubtful.

“Okay, boss.” Jackson left the reception immediately after his instructions. It didn't take more than a few minutes when he received the mail and he opened it to see the compilation of the names of the people that had lodged between 11 pm- to 1 am but he didn't see any Anna on it at all.

Jackson rolled his eyes and began preparing the pasta. Jackson and his wife worked together, and Jayden was used to their bickering. But tonight, even watching them irritated him. He left the kitchen to attend other tables, carefully avoiding table four—and avoiding the woman’s gaze. After an uneventful shift, he cleaned the kitchen as always while Jackson handled the accounts. When he was done, he walked over. Jackson looked up in surprise. “It’s already 11 PM. Why do you still have that painting on?” Jayden ignored him.

And because he's the boss, Jackson doesn't have to rush through the financial statements. Two more hours passed. No open door creaking. Jackson was getting tired. It was ten o'clock at night, it was time for him to sleep. Jackson lay down on the sofa, closed his eyes and began to recite a prayer. And ten minutes later, when he had drifted into dreamland, Beverly came out of the room and saw him sleeping in that tiny space.

Jackson busy all day planning tonight, sorting out the work issue still and worrying over Alena. The day passes quickly, I get the girls in bed as Jackson is still struggling to get everything sorted. Walking back down I take the laptop off him. “Have a coffee, relax for five minutes, and I will do this” He nods, walking to the kitchen, I look at the CCTV he is going through of work, trying to see if we can see Roxy or Jake at work when it happened. People arrive to set up the party, bringing food and drinks in, Jackson comes back over to take the laptop, and putting my hand up I stop him.

Morgan got up from his seat, placed his dirty dishes to the sink, opened the refrigerator and retrieved two cold Ludweiser beers. “I need a drink. You want one?” “It’s only nine in the morning, bro.” “I have the day off and you called in sick. One or two wouldn’t hurt and as a special bonus for joining me, I’ll write up your sick note.” “Then count me in bro,” replied Jackson, clinking his bottle against Morgan’s. “Yeah, I do. And I agree. He’s always been a good eater in that sense.” She picks up a piece of bacon. “I can relate to that.” A few minutes of silence go by as we both eat our breakfast. It’s still gray and cloudy outside, but Scarlet is brightening up the whole room. “When does Jackson usually get up?” she asks. “Eight-thirty or nine if he’s able. Usually when I work on a Saturday, I take him to my parents’ and have to wake him up early. He’ll be happy to sleep in today.”
