My assistant and the volunteers work on Halloween and I work a Sunday for each of them." Mike frowned. "The library is open Sunday?" "Only once a month." Her lips thinned. "We used to be open seven days a week but budget cuts did us in."

It’s not a lot of information but I might be able to work with that date and see the deaths of people who had a small child in the area. “The local library in town keeps records of all the newspapers in the area. But the library isn’t open until Monday.” I say. “Then I guess we are at a standstill” he said.

They stood in the reading room at six o'clock. The library had been open for nine hours. The first Tuesday of August, the civic calendar's beginning, the letter delivered to the first of its strangers. In those nine hours: two hundred and fourteen people through the covered approach. Not a large opening-day number — not the event attendance, not the formal-occasion crowd. The ordinary two hundred and fourteen: the people who had been using the temporary location and transferred their habit to the permanent building, the curious who had seen the announcement, the ones who had come without particular purpose because the library was on their route and it was open and they went in.

He also made clear the time when there are just more customers and when there are not. In the afternoon the library was not so busy but when it was a little late there were many students from school and college. The old people showed up in the evening to get the book and read here sometimes while some took the books with them. "Miss Wilson, I hope now you can better understand your work."
