Jake Long American Dragon Novels & Stories

I froze in the doorway, my breath hitching. Drake was already there. He must have raced home, fueled by a frantic adrenaline and he is fast considering that he's very athletic. "Bring your voice down! Your mom is going to be back any minute," Jake’s voice was low, vibrating with a forced level-headedness that I knew was just a mask for his own panic. But Drake wasn't buying it. This was a side of Drake I had never seen, a raw, aggressive power that mirrored his father’s.

Human traders move through the streets carrying goods from distant cities that once knew nothing about magic. Children run everywhere. That is perhaps the most wonderful change of all. In the decade since the bridge opened, more shifter children have been born than in the previous fifty years combined. Dragons once feared their race would fade. Now their laughter fills entire valleys. “Mom!” The shout comes from above. I glance upward just in time to see two small dragon shapes swoop across the sky. One is unmistakably my son. Jakob. Ten years old and already flying like he was born with the wind beneath his wings.

I moved like a machine, blind to everything except the fight and the fire. “Alpha!” Jake’s voice cut through the noise. I turned in time to see him stumble, a blade buried in his side. “Jake!” I was at his side before the rogue could finish him, steel flashing, blood spraying. The attacker fell, throat open, but Jake was already sinking to one knee. “Get up,” I ordered. “You’re not dying here.” He coughed, dark blood on his lips. “He’s here, Lucas.” “Who?” His hand tightened on my sleeve. “Drake. I saw him with them—he’s leading them.”

she shouted. Jake barely heard her. His focus was locked on Damon, who was circling the room like a predator. "You’re too late," Damon taunted. "The moment that transfer completes, the Drakkons will have everything they need." Jake clenched his jaw. "Not if we stop you first." He launched himself forward, tackling Damon. They hit the ground hard, grappling for control. Damon was strong—too strong—but Jake had rage on his side. A sharp pain exploded in his ribs as Damon landed a brutal strike, but Jake didn’t let go. He twisted, using his weight to slam Damon against the floor.

Alex scoffed in disbelief. "It's really unbelievable, Your Highness. By the way, guess who I met today," Jake said to Alex. "Who did you meet, Jake? You know very well that I'm not good at guessing," Alex said to Jake. "Well, it's no one else than Dave, Mara's baby daddy, and to think that the fool was playing nice with me, only if he knew how much I wanted to strangle him with my very own hands, but then I remembered that it wasn't my job, but someone else's, so I decided to keep my calm and keep on playing the dumb guy," Jake said to Alex.

The men hugged again before Jake looked at Olive. “Olive, my goodness!” he exclaimed and hugged her sweetly. He kissed her hair and held her at arm's length too. “Dragon rider. Look at you.” “You'll be shocked. I'm not the only dragon rider now,” Olive revealed and beamed at Wayne. Jake's eyes widened. “You're joking.” “Nope. Two dragons. Both mates. The male one's mine, the female one's his.” Jake looked so pleasantly shocked Olive began to laugh again. He turned around and hugged his Alpha once again.

I asked, concerned, as I noticed Jake collapsing to the ground. "While attempting to return from the mission, I was struck by energy. I quickly opened a portal and ended up here," Jake explained before losing consciousness. Dave and I rushed to his side. "Let me examine him," Dave said, using his healing magic on Jake. I realized I had sent Jake as a spy in the Dragon realm to gather information about Ella's mate's family. How did they discover his identity? I had cast a spell on Jake to prevent anyone from noticing his presence. "However, what's strange is the injury caused by the artificial magic weapon on Jake's body. Those weapons are primarily sold by the green witches," Dave responded,

Former-Alpha of Fleet Wood, Draxon, declared, “That’s not very nice, Lucy. And, for the record, Jake really did like you. Idio—” Xandar growled at the mention of Jake, and pounced on Draxon. Draxon didn’t avoid the king’s attack fast enough, so Xandar caught his leg, broke his limbs and was cracking his neck slowly. Draxon howled in pain before he whimpered and scratched Xandar’s hands to loosen his tightening grip, but to no avail. Then, a gust of the wind from behind Xandar nicked the left side of his arm. Another gust came from the front and nicked the right side of the same arm.

Blue's POV I'm dead! Where are you Drake? We haven't seen him for a week now and he told us that he will just buy some stuff for Charlie here in Japan. I didn't know that Dora is his cousin. Charlie will kill me for sure. Where did he go? I'm getting dizzy by Jake, he's been walking back and forth. Is it fun? Should I try it too? "What are you doing?"- Isn't it obvious? I'm copying him.

asked Lana again. "I don't have time for this," June replied again as she was about to walk away. “Drake will live forever, until someone kills him. Drake was an immortal being, he was no ordinary dragon. That's why he's called the Dragon King,” said Lana. Those words made June stop.
