For a short time, all the problems of the other packs felt very far away from this small room. Jake knew that his brother Dwayne was greedy, but he did not know that his brother was planning to kill him. He only thought about the woman in his bed and the life they were going to start together very soon. "Tomorrow we will start our journey to the mansion to tell everyone the truth. I am ready to be a King if it means you can be my Queen," Jake said to the shadows. He finally fell asleep, feeling like the luckiest Alpha in the whole world.

Thomas said there was no one inside and moved a few steps ahead, telling me to stay where I was while he made sure there were no more enemies outside. He looked around and signaled for me to move forward. Apparently, there was no one. I took nervous steps toward him, but instinctively glanced to the side and saw two wolves from the opposing side. After a long moment of silence, his rough hand reaches out and violently rips the burlap sack off Chika's head. They got dressed and walked out of the suite. Jake woke up before Cherry and spent a good half hour gazing at the beautiful woman sleeping beside him. She looked so relaxed, young, and beautiful in her sleep that she took his breath away. Jake had come to realize that she had stopped having nightmares. After the encounter in California and letting go of the past, the awful nightmares had ceased, and he was grateful for that.
