I liked it okay, but I much prefer Jane Eyre. A lot of what happened in that book is reflections of what actually happened to Charlotte in real life.” Dani tells him. He just looks down at her and she blushes. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to fan girl over them. I know most people find it boring when I go on about stuff like this.” Dani does not want to bore him or make him think that she is some kind of nerd.

Max mutters the last part, but still I heard it. "Like what," I ask already guessing what it might be. "Like killing that Vampire before presenting the case in our court" Li finishes for him. The one thing that she turns to when she needs an escape from her reality at the moment. “You must have something.” Gabe prombts her. “An old, worn out copy of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë that I keep in between my mattresses so that no one will find it and take it from me. Reading that book always brings me comfort.” And gives her hope. It makes her feel so much better to read it.

The chill autumn wind ruffled the man's wild black hair and pulled at his long, brown leather trench coat. The tall, handsome man didn't seem to notice the wind, nor anything else for that matter. He must be listening to all that in his incorporeal form. After locking the door, Jane returned to me. Her expression was distraught, and her eyes didn’t carry a hint of evil.
