Author’s POV “This is Paradise!” Vivi yelled looking at the place where the local alpha, Matt Wheeler, suggested to stay. Inn of Cannon Beach is 2 minutes walk from the beach, has a private garden full with wild flowers and in the middle of the garden a beautiful pond is placed. The best thing is that the place where the wedding will be held, Haystack Rock is 15 minutes’ walk away so Matt Wheeler was right, the place is perfect.

She compiled several key technical issues that needed to be addressed with Chad the next day at the office. When Janice and the others returned from their hike, it was dark. Janice waved her hand dramatically and laughed. "I'm done. My legs are dead. Don't bother calling me for dinner." Chad chuckled. "She charged ahead right from the start and ran out of energy halfway. Just shows how competitive yet terrible she is. "There's a camping site nearby. We can barbecue, stargaze, and perhaps watch the sunrise. Shall we check it out later?" he asked, visibly energetic.

Coco wore a plain white maxi dress and had her hair done up in a twist. She looked very elegant, like a pure and flawless goddess.

“Well that seems a shame.” “Perhaps. Might have kept the place from being swallowed by Long Beach or Newport Beach. I believe it was Bayside Land Company put in a pier with pavilions—the Joy Zone, I think it was called. But when they filed bankruptcy, that was the end of it.” He pointed to an area visible along the coast. “The roller coaster, the Joy Zone, the dance pavilion and the Jewel Cafe were torn down. Now they call it ‘Electric Avenue’ because of all the power plants that dominate the landscape.”

I do feel guilty and not a small bit hurt that he doesn’t trust me though—perhaps I need a demonstration of the gentler side of my fae half. Main street Candlewood is a series of quaint shops that wrap around a large park with a pavilion. Though it’s late evening by the time we arrive, there are still people out, walking hand in hand or pushing perambulators and calling to errant children bundled against the evening chill, laughing and talking, feeling safe and at home under the converted gas lamps that illuminate the streets with a warm yellow glow. Janice's POV The test results from the domestic hospital matched those from overseas. I had only one month left. I wasn't surprised by the outcome, but Zayne looked at me with concern. "Janice, your condition… Are we really still going on the trip?" he asked. I didn't hesitate and gave a slight nod. With only one month remaining, I needed to say my goodbyes properly. I took Zayne to the hillside estate where Jason and I used to spend part of every holiday. In addition to the usual estate amenities, the property even had a golf course.

“Oh . . . wow.” Hannah let the car roll to a stop along the Cove road as she stared down the short stretch of Pelican Bay shoreline, then out to the Point, where the McCraes’ lighthouse stood, a proud old sentry, historic and beloved. The sun was just rising above the horizon line behind it, casting it in a pinkish-golden halo of light.

Turning away from Alex, Candice crouched down to light the candles and silently recited the words she wished to convey to Joe about herself and Ellis. "She's too young to visit you now. When she's older, I'll bring her here," Candice murmured, addressing Joe. Once they had paid their respects to her grandparents, Candice packed up and prepared to leave. Alex followed her out of the graveyard. Candice didn't want to engage in an argument with him there, so she acted as if she hadn't noticed his presence. Yana, waiting below, was surprised to see Alex and asked, "Why is he here?"
