“Thank you, Janine.” At Luna’s acknowledgement, Janine blushed and smiled. Janine Waters, financial executive for Green-ish Foods. She was a bookish, nerdy type, the type that wore horn rimmed glasses and sweater vests. Luna hadn’t hired her for her social skills, obviously, but she was glad to see her coming out of her shell ever since she started working for her. In the three years since she’s employed at Green-ish Foods, she now managed to contribute in board meetings every once in a while. And that was progress for Janine. Luna didn’t want her employees to be all about work improvement alone, she wanted rounded success. And she’d managed to get that substantially.

Jenny added her introduction. Anna didn't understand what Jenny was talking about, so she just kept her smile and listened. "Who do you work for?" Suddenly Linda asked him. Anna turned and looked back into her grey eyes. Oh, Linda was so perfect with her eyes. It made her different from the average brown-eyed Latina woman. One of her parents must be American or European, or something else, as long as it was not Latin. "I'm with Adam," Anna answered simply. "That's Adam Green, right? You must be happy to be his assistant."

Gina immediately rushed to Jayden’s side, lowering her already scandalous neckline even more as she pressed herself against him. Jo grimaced at the sight, resisting the urge to gag. "My, my, I never knew generals were this handsome," a slurred voice chirped behind her. Jo didn’t even need to turn. Linda. The Beta's wife. Overly blonde. Overly made-up. Overly desperate. She felt relieved when she closed the doors and went back to her seat. Like any other assassin, she had done her research. She was iconic in the fashion industry and had her own fashion line and was an investor in many popular cloth and shoe brands. She was rich, famous and was head over heels for Levi Wushi. However, even though she had everything she could ever want, she couldn't get any love or affection from Mr. Wushi.

Whenever I talked about Jake or even brought up his name she would squeal, making me laugh. “Danika, trust me Jake likes you. A lot. All your fears are irrational. His family is just like him, they are very loving and accepting.” She explains with excitement evident in her voice. “How can you possibly know that?” I ask her, I know Jake and the Lachlan family are close, but I didn’t know they were so close that even Emily met them. “You know Nathan’s grandmother right? She told me that Jake’s grandmother, Judith worked with her. That’s why they are close.”

He ordered her. Janine nodded as she faked a smile. Please, if she’s not that close to Hana Kim, Mr. Lee’s wife, she would’ve said no. Heck, why would she be the guide? She thought this new supervisor was a genius? Why does he need supervision? Duh. He is the supervisor. Please. Janine is stressed out by mere thinking of how she could guide him. “Hello, Sir. I’m Yasmin, the assistant manager.” Yasmin beamed at Porter shyly as Mr. Lee and his secretary left the room.

After learning about Joan’s single niece, Linda Bakerson, who’d recently moved from New York to accept a position teaching junior high English, Glenda immediately set to work arranging a dinner to introduce the two.
