While I was brushing my teeth, I looked at the bruise on my cheek. Last night I went to a rundown bar to get something to drink and start a fight. I’ve had that nightmare the last couple of nights, so I needed to let off some steam or I would’ve hurt the next idiotic person I came across. Hey, some people fuck, I fight. When I was done in the bathroom, I combed my hair. I really need to get a haircut. It’s been a while. My hair is almost to my knees, which means braided, it’s about mid-butt. I like to keep it about waist length to cover up the scars on my back. I didn’t realize how long it had been because I keep it braided all the time.

"Do whatever you want. It won't change the fact that I hate every single one of you." ​Jaxson just smirked, a dark, victorious glint in his eyes. "Good. Hate is much more fun than boredom. Carry on." ​As he walked out, the army moved in. For the next three hours, I was poked, prodded, and painted. They worked on my hair, using extensions to hide the jagged edges I’d cut in my moment of rebellion. They scrubbed the forest dirt from under my nails until my skin was raw.

“Don’t move or you’ll make it worse.” Jonie worked quickly in the silence that fell between us. She snipped at my hair from different angles, evening out the jagged tufts and bringing some semblance of cohesion. A pixie cut was all that could be salvaged of what remained, but I was grateful to no longer look like the failed experiment of a 5-year-old who discovered the wonders a pair of scissors could do to the heads of her Barbies.

And besides, there's nothing better than being popular. I got up from the chair I was sitting in before going into my bathroom. I took a quick shower and once I was done I wrapped a towel around my waist before I left my bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror before frowning lightly. Getting a buzz cut this summer is probably the best thing I've done this year. I got dressed into a pair of brown pleated pants before pulling a white vest over my head, I added a gray button-down shirt and left the buttons undone. I put some black loafers on before I put some cologne on.

But even for street names, they were tacky. Once they saw me, they waved me forward out of the crowd. They were never particularly welcoming, despite being familiar. Jarhead had a shaved head and a massive scar marring the side of his face. Biter was nearly feral, an animalistic glint in his eye along his pointed teeth. Both are human, even if Biter pretended to be otherwise. "He's waiting for you," Jarhead said with a rather bored drawl, leading me inside to the thumping music. The bass shuddered against the warehouse walls, banging and thrashing as intoxicated clubbers tried to dance to the inconsistent beat.

He continued, making lines along my head. “How is it that you look cool with your hair like that, while I get a buzz cut and look like an alien?” Henry grumbled from the kitchen. I bit my lip so as to not laugh. “Because you look like an alien normally. A buzz cut won’t fix that.” Everyone laughed and Henry threw his hands up. Bernard finished with the razor, but he didn’t let me go. Taking out a straight razor, he did a full lather of shaving cream, slathering it on my head, and began using that razor.

She held a small diamond purse. Xavier's eyes moved to her hair. Carrie's jaw dropped. “You cut your hair?" She looked at Jade's short hair. Jade smiled. “New look." She shrugged. She wasn't sure if to cut her long beautiful hair or not but something inside her just wanted to. And after she cut her hair to shoulder length, it felt good because she didn't regret it and it made her feel like a completely different person. Maybe that's what she needed to fully embrace the new phase she unwittingly found herself in.

The applause and whistling from the crowd was so loud that Saira had to cover her ears but she stood on her tiptoes to see him and her breath caught in her throat when she finally saw him after so many agonizing days. His shoulder length hair was now in a crew cut and he looked even more gorgeous sporting the haircut than with his long hair. "God, he's so yummy." A girl said from beside Saira. "I can have him for breakfast, lunch and dinner." "Gross." Saira thought. "Bitch, like you're not thinking the same thing." Her subconscious snapped. "Okay this has to stop." Saira thought. "Get out of my head." "I'm your subconscious idiot. "I can't leave."

“Do you like me like this, baby brother?” His body looked disfigured. There were three bullet wounds on his body; one by his side–close to his ribs, one by his waist–right above his waistband, and the other on his shoulder. They had been covered by a band aid. Just as Hayden stared at the wounds, Jarrod ripped out the band aid, exposing the skin underneath. As the band aid was ripped, the open skin emitted a small liquid, a mixt of yellow and red. Now bare to Hayden’s eyes, he could see that they looked gnarly and a tad bit infected.

"Shorter hair?" "Yeah, dude. It was kinda short to begin with, but they had to buzz him to put some staples in his head where you busted it wide open. I'm not sure you're the person he wants to see today, if you get what I mean." Now Jagger felt really bad. His temper had gotten the better of him—that and the shock. "Has Liam said anything?" Things like that could have more than one potential consequence. It normally was not kosher to fight in the clubhouse.
