Jax said softly. His words had my heart racing and a sudden urge came over me. I got the scissors out of the top drawer of the vanity. I lifted them to my hair and cut it. I cut it short and then when I was happy with how short I got the clippers and shaved one side. I stood back looking at the new me, a smile was on my face and it warmed my heart to see myself genuinely smiling. I had a quick cold shower because I used all the hot water letting the shower run down the drain for hours. I walked out of my bathroom and got dressed. The boy had left a while ago. Their words, especially Jax’s hit home. I will flip the script and I’ll do it swinging.

He looked like he'd been stung by an entire hives-worth of bees, and was still waiting for the swelling to go down. And then there was Aaron. He was the same height as Big Jim but looked like a rake beside him, which was crazy. Dash squints at him and points while speaking to Kanda. “How about him?” Without even looking at Beck, Kanda responds, “Not enough hair.” Dash almost breaks laughing. “It’s a fucking hairstyle! A buzz cut! I’m not bald!” Beck shouts. “I really missed all of this craziness,” I tell Colt.

Logan fingers instantly snapped back as he straightened up in his chair while I turned my head toward the door. Jared had discarded his suit jacket, his white dress shirt unbuttoned at the collar, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows to reveal his muscular, vein lined forearms. His dark, curly hair was slightly disheveled but his sharp hazel eyes were fixed on his cousin with a lethal, unblinking glare.

While I was brushing my teeth, I looked at the bruise on my cheek. Last night I went to a rundown bar to get something to drink and start a fight. I’ve had that nightmare the last couple of nights, so I needed to let off some steam or I would’ve hurt the next idiotic person I came across. Hey, some people fuck, I fight. When I was done in the bathroom, I combed my hair. I really need to get a haircut. It’s been a while. My hair is almost to my knees, which means braided, it’s about mid-butt. I like to keep it about waist length to cover up the scars on my back. I didn’t realize how long it had been because I keep it braided all the time.

And besides, there's nothing better than being popular. I got up from the chair I was sitting in before going into my bathroom. I took a quick shower and once I was done I wrapped a towel around my waist before I left my bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror before frowning lightly. Getting a buzz cut this summer is probably the best thing I've done this year. I got dressed into a pair of brown pleated pants before pulling a white vest over my head, I added a gray button-down shirt and left the buttons undone. I put some black loafers on before I put some cologne on.

But even for street names, they were tacky. Once they saw me, they waved me forward out of the crowd. They were never particularly welcoming, despite being familiar. Jarhead had a shaved head and a massive scar marring the side of his face. Biter was nearly feral, an animalistic glint in his eye along his pointed teeth. Both are human, even if Biter pretended to be otherwise. "He's waiting for you," Jarhead said with a rather bored drawl, leading me inside to the thumping music. The bass shuddered against the warehouse walls, banging and thrashing as intoxicated clubbers tried to dance to the inconsistent beat.

The same dream shows up again and I wake up with this little guy sleeping on my chest under my jacket. I put him in my bag that has my old shirt onit and got up to look for the berries that I saw around here, after taking a short walk before I went to bed. I walked to the berries bush that was alive and these kinds of berries were almost dead the other day but I didn't care, I got some berrys to have for the morning feast. I bring the bin with me and get some water from the lake, to boil so I can freshen up a little. I try to keep myself clear and the only way I can is by boiling hot water when I can find water near me. After I clear myself up and I use the rise to wash my hair with water, t
