Jarren I was currently getting my hair cut or more like trimmed. I’d been either pacing or threatening to kill someone all day. It wasn’t my fault. Most of it was due to the extra testosterone. Reid had refused to give me my shot until right before the wedding. So I was a bit irritated about anything and at everybody. Xander, of course, thought it was funny, while Garret tried to calm me down. I looked at myself in the mirror as Daniel trimmed my hair. I didn’t see anything wrong with it, to begin with, but my mom insisted on it being cut. He wasn’t even taking that much of it off.

She’d been waiting. The door creaked open. Jade stepped in—tall for a senior, shoulders broad under the faded band hoodie, black skinny jeans hugging narrow hips, combat boots scuffed at the toes. Her auburn hair was shaved on the sides, longer on top, falling into hazel eyes that always looked like they were daring someone to say something. She locked the main door with the janitor’s key she’d “borrowed” last month. The click sounded final. Riley pushed off the wall. “Took you long enough.”

Radyn let out a shaky breath. "You drive me crazy, little demon," Radyn breathed, his tone kept to a low murmur. Scarlet smirked at him, running her hands through his hair. A few days ago, Radyn had decided to have his hair shaved at the sides with a heavily styled tapered undercut. After all, he was a growing child, and with proper nutrition, even the hair that had been shaved for stitches had grown back. Only the spot where he'd been stitched remained bald, creating a lightning bolt-shaped mark on the side of his head that actually looked rather cool. Harvey led Beau to an empty table and sat down. His gaze swept around like a king surveying his domain.

Her hair now stops around the middle of her neck.” Ruth winced. “Jade hates cutting her hair,” she murmured. “She's always loved keeping it long.”

Anson had told me that was the way he liked his women, and I obeyed without question, in an effort to please him. "I think the last time was like ten years ago," I finally admitted. "So James, can you fix it or not?" Pilar moved around, impatiently. James nodded his head as he made an imaginary cutting motion with his hands just under my shoulders. "Everything below this is dead. It's gotta go." I swallowed hard, accepting his words. Cutting off more than half of my hair felt terrifying. "And," James wasn't finished talking. "I think we should go honey blonde. It'll make your features pop out."

I am the first to see him as he walks into view. I had to turn around to hide my laughter quickly. His normally dark blonde hair is now very bright orange. He laid there a couple more seconds before sitting up. Leaning his elbows on his knees. He had cut off his hair into a buzz cut. Removing his stylish boyish cut that I loved on him. The same cut he had since high school.
