Kimberly Pov The next two days passed smoothly. Things are really different with Jason and I. I'm not sure exactly what we are to each other, but we're not what we once was. We kiss and touch a lot. We even share the same end of the couch at night when we sleep now.

After all, alphas are usually mated to higher-up females. So many regrets. I was drowning in them. Drowning in the fact that if I had just questioned things, right now we would have been happy. We would have been a family. My mate wouldn’t hate me and my daughter would know who I am. “Alec?” I turn when Jason’s voice penetrates my fog. I sag against the chair, feeling the weight of my failures and regrets on my shoulder. “I’d come to let you know that Piper has arrived,” he says, but his words take a while to sink in.

Jason pleaded. “Very well. I’ll try my best and get back to you.” Piper agreed, not wanting to prolong the conversation. “Thank you.” Jason said with hope brewing inside him. “Bye.” Piper hung up. Jason sighed and put his phone down on the table in front of him. He wondered what Vivian could be going through that she couldn’t tell him. After all, they were best friends like they claimed to be.

Her temper flared. "Excuse me, I was lost in contemplation; anyway, what do you want?" In response, Jason: "Oh, simply that...you've been keeping a low profile as of late," Piper said, and Jason flashed a grin. Piper jerked her head in the opposite direction as he leaned in to kiss her. "Are you concerned about how I'm doing?" He asked Piper laughed and punched Jason so hard in the chest that he choked. Piper laughed again. She rolled her eyes as she said, "Snap out of your ideas."

Tell me that he loves me and nothing could ever change that. I hold him tightly as I cry, from the pain that I feel inside. I love him and he's mine, even if he's having a baby with her. Once I stop crying, we just stand here in each other arms for a couple of minutes, just him and me, the way it's supposed to be. "We'll continue with training tomorrow," Jason tells me once we pull away. I give him a nod. "I'm going to shower, then I'll cook breakfast," I tell him before heading inside.

I chuckled as I placed my hand on his bare chest and tried to push him away. “Don't go,” he said and made his puppy eyes. “I’m not falling for that. Now go and get dressed, you have to work don't you?” I said as I freed myself from his hold. He was only in his boxers. “Make it quick,” I said as I ran down the stairs. I was starving. I made a few sandwiches for us and served them on the plate. I and Jason have progressed a lot if I must say. He is learning how to trust me and I like it.
