Jasper had his hand around Draken’s neck, and Draken was clawing at him to free himself. I shrieked hysterically, “Jasper, please let him go…” Jasper did not even hear me at first, and he kept glaring at Draken. Draken’s eyes soon turned white, and he was turning paler by the second. When Jasper would not listen to me, I went directly in front of him and jumped a little, my hands thrown in the air to make him look at me. “Jasper, please, leave him…now!!” I yelled, and it was only then that Jasper registered my presence. His gray eyes had turned briefly silver for a moment, and I could not help but stare at him in shock.

Caspian spat. "Better a god who wants order than a Hive that wants nothing but static," Aris countered. She looked down at Jade, who was beginning to stir, her silver-streaked hair matted with blood and ash. "She’s waking up. And she’s hungry for the next sequence. I can feel it from here." The Choice Jade’s eyes snapped open. They weren't violet, and they weren't brown. They were a terrifying, swirling silver. She sat up with a fluid, unnatural grace, her gaze locking onto Aris.

Coming down from the Alpha’s floor, I steeled myself for the evening ahead. As I descended the stairs, I spotted one of the twins waiting in the entryway. Jasper, I realized immediately. His green eyes caught the light, distinct from Jason’s icy blue. “Alpha Jasper,” I greeted with a nod. He raised an eyebrow. “You’re certain it’s me?” “You have your mother’s eyes. Jason’s are more like your father’s.” Jasper looked pleasantly surprised, studying me closely. “That’s an impressive observation. I’m surprised you remember our parents.”

I say, staring at my plate. Jace looks up delighted. "Has Alpha Esis found his mate already? That's good news. Now he and Jasper are both mated!" he exclaims delightedly. Jasper! That's the name I'm looking for. Now only the person has to match the description Saray gave me. "Who is Jasper?" I ask quasi uninterested. "My Alpha. I'm his Beta and our pack is Storm Forest," he responds proudly. My heart pounds like crazy. Is this a coincidence? Or did the Moon Goddess of the werewolves make us meet? I look up, straight into his eyes. "And what is your Luna's name?" I ask with bated breath.

He offered it to me, and I gazed at it in horror, as if it were a venomous snake ready to strike. "Easy now, little wolf. I have no intentions of poisoning you. You’re far too valuable to me," he said with a playful smirk, his eyes sparkling as he winked. The rich aroma of honey lavender tea wafted up from the steaming cup. Jasper had never been able to name anything I liked, but somehow, Koren remembered my favorite tea. This demonstrates he is even more calculating than Jasper. Suddenly, the OR doors flew open with a bang, and a breathless nurse emerged. "We need the Lycan's mate!"

Alfred chuckles, raising his hands as if in surrender, "We're men, we understand each other, don't we? If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time with a woman like her." Excuse me? Jasper lets go of my waist, but not before placing me behind his broad body protectively, stepping forward and lowering his head to look him straight in the eye. This gives the impression that Alfred is short and more slight than he really is, when in fact it's Jasper who doesn't look his age. "No, we don't understand each other." Jasper's voice is deep... so intimidating that I feel a shiver run down my spine. And then I smell the air, with a scent of pine entering my nostrils - it's Jasper's scent...

Theron's POV The day of the event was finally here. This is the day I officially put Twilight on the map. Another success to celebrate. Many of my past lovers have been calling nonstop to accompany me to the event but I turned them all down. I don't want any drama tonight so I decided to just go alone.

Every eye turned to me. I let out a cold, clear laugh, echoing through the hall, slicing through the anticipation like a knife. "I, Tessa Ashford..." I paused, letting the words roll slowly, deliberately, "reject you, Jasper Bloodmoon, as my mate." The smile on his face crumbled. His eyes narrowed, storm clouds gathering behind his perfectly sculpted features. "What did you just say?!" he barked, leaping to his feet. His hands found my chin, gripping hard, flames of fury in his gaze.

“Second, I already have a mate. Only she sparks that kind of interest in me… So I pose no risk to you or any other woman. Except Lify, who runs from me like the devil runs from the cross.” I huffed, rolling my eyes. “I can perfectly understand her reasons.” I replied, irritated, walking over to the wardrobe. I grabbed a well-lined coat, white and fluffy, feeling the soft fabric between my fingers. Jasper let out a long sigh, scratched the back of his neck, and approached. He held out his hand to me, and I noticed a ribbon tied around a bottle. I frowned, suspicious. “I owe you a tequila.” He murmured, raising the bottle toward me.
