A ghost of a whisper. His shoulders dropped slightly in relief, though his jaw was still tight, eyes scanning my face as if the pain might surge back any second. And then— Ding. Sending the first picture to a contact saved as Lewis on her phone, she instructed that he dug up every dirt on him and sent it to her in less than thirty minutes.

Then I push at his chest with my palms, giving a little shake of my head. “I’ve gotta grab a shower and some food before I head over to IT,” I say, my lips tipping up into a little smirk as I push him away. I bend down to retrieve my water bottle and sweatshirt, pointing at the hard-on tenting up the front of Jax’s gym shorts on the way back up. “Down boy”.

Cairos's brow knitted with confusion, his eyes widening when he looked at Jada, who refused to make eye contact. "Miss Hudson, this is great news! If people hear that XG group is giving us more projects, despise your memory lost, they would want to do more business with us!" Jax smiled at him in return before leaning over to place a small kiss on his cheek. “Thank you baby” Jax said. He returned to his seated position and began to open the box carefully. His eye’s widened in shock once the box was fully open. He pulled out all the items one by one until the last one was taken out. “Is this real?” He turned to ask Valerian in shock. Valerian smiled and nodded his head. Jax’s face broke out into a huge smile as he jumped up from his chair. He quickly picked Valerian up from his seat and spun him in a circle. I smiled at their interaction.

The healer was covered in tiny creatures and clearly afraid to move. "Oh yeah. Spiders think demons are delicious." Jinx replied casually. He laid out the five cards the glyphs seemed to be referring to. "And I know WHICH cards, but it's easier to understand by having them laid out like this." Not that laying them out made the cards make sense. "Very funny, young-fur. You can't tell, but I'm laughing hysterically on the inside." Wound grumbled, his paw shaking the light as some of the many spiders crawling on him moved down it and made huge shadows when they crawled across the glow.

I cursed under my breath. “Baby, what’s wrong?” I turned to find Jillie leaning against the kitchen doorframe. “It’s nothing, baby.” I turned my conversation back to the phone. “Thanks. Let me know if you find something else.” “Will do,” Xander replied before we ended the call. “Is everything okay?” “Yeah, it’s just royal business.” She looked at me skeptically for a minute. “Okay.” “Come here. I want to show you something.” I walked over and sat on the couch while she sat beside me. I picked up the remote and turned on the TV. I flipped through the channels until I got to a few special ones.
