I watched him stride purposely from the room and let out the breath I was holding.
My mom put her blade away and side-eyed me without worry.
“He's the council assassin, dear. He is a natural-born killer. I wouldn't worry about him,” she stated matter of factly then asked if Gavin could hold his grandson.
