Roy had moved out of view, and from the background on the screen, Rodrigo figured his brother was working from his home office. A second later, Roy returned to the screen. “Why the fuck were you shirtless?” “Because I spilled something on myself.” Roy glared at him. Rodrigo tucked his shirt inside his trousers. “Talk, Roy, and stop giving me the stink eye. What have I done now, and why were you so desperately trying to reach me?” “Did you offer Jade a job?” “Wow, I was expecting this call all of last week.” Roy made a face. “I have a newborn who was colicky for more than a week. Last night was the first time she’s slept well.”

Alpha said. “It matters not what anyone here believes to be true. I am here to claim what is rightfully mine,” I said. “Oh? Is this not a family reunion?” Alpha Joshua said. “I, Shane Hayes, am here to challenge Alpha Joshua Wright of the Dark Moon pack,” I said. “Hayes? You are a Wright,” Alpha Joshua growled. “Your name will die here, today. Hayes is the name I’ve taken and will be the name that carries into the next line,” I said.

He treated me with respect for the most part. Carlo shook his head, sure as hell that I was lying. “Take your hands off her. Nikolas will not like that.” Ricco said to Carlo. Carlo turned to him with a sneer saying, “Do your job and stop concerning yourself with matters that aren’t your business.” “I warned you,” Ricco said to Carlo and turned away. Carlo turned to me with a smile. I removed my hands from his grasp and sipped my already cold coffee. I didn’t want to be the reason he got in trouble with my husband.

“You know I’m right. One swift move, and this whole mess goes away. No more human complications. No more—” “Enough!” Jake’s voice cut through the air like a whip, silencing Royce instantly. “You’re out of line. You want to take matters into your own hands? Go ahead and try. But you’ll have to go through me first.” For a moment, the tension was so thick I thought the air itself might crack. Then Royce let out a bitter laugh. “You’re loyal to a fault, Jake. But don’t say I didn’t warn you when this all goes to hell.”

Maybe Archie had one, but I never thought of asking him about that. However I had imagined the man to look like, this was definitely not it. Royce was a handsome man, but the way he portrayed himself made my blood freeze in my veins, and a shiver raced down my spine, making me cold all of a sudden. Royce had buzz-cut black hair, a thin nose with a ring piercing on it, earrings on both ears, and tattoos all over his neck and arms. His cheekbones also had ink, although I couldn’t tell what was drawn on them.

I glanced at Williams, who remained silent, as if in pain. "It's nothing, Dean. A friend of mine came to visit, and I was happy about it all." Dean looked at Henry, who smiled and extended his hand for a shake. "Hi, my name is Henry, and I'm from the Lycan pack. I used to be a beta to Williams here, but I guess my rights have been taken away." I observed how Dean shook hands with Henry, then turned his attention back to me. "You need to rest, Sierra. You know I don't like seeing you this way."

She whispered at him before glancing at Zyke to check if he heard her but the latter was busy with his phone. "Relax, woman. He's here to watch only a few parts of it. You see, Zyke's a little bit of a brat. When he likes to do something, he will and when he doesn't get what he wants, he'll throw a fucking tantrum and I don't want that." Royce said without even bothering to lower his voice much to Coreen's annoyance. "I heard that, asshole." "Yeah, you were meant to." Royce threw back at him.

I needed to buy myself a lot of time or else, I was going to be doomed if he discovers. Bang! I collided with a figure just as I was running, making me fall to the floor. Immediately, a sense of premonition arose in my heart as I stood up and looked at the figure. Frowning, I saw that the figure was a man in his late sixties. But from the looks of it, he didn't seem to be a member of the pack and it made me wonder if he was a spy. But then I could care less about that at the moment, I needed to leave as soon as I could. I didn't know if Alpha Kyle had noticed that I was missing or not.

By just seeing Vince and Alexa's facial expressions, I know they are in great shock at what they heard but they remained silent while waiting for Royce to add more. "I mean, it's me, Royce, pretending to be Reid in front of all the people, especially in the agency. You know bro, it's so hard but I could never say 'no' to my parents when they asked me to take Reid's CEO position in META for the meantime". 'So you mean---", Vince looked at me and I got what he meant to say. "Yes Vince, I found out just recently. But I understand because Royce is just doing the right thing to protect his family's company. And I'm proud of him", I said and held Royce's hand.

I exclaimed, rolling my eyes at his playful teasing. “Just ignore my dad. I always do,” a confident voice chimed in from the passenger seat as the door swung open. The newcomer was definitely David’s son. The striking boy was like a younger version of David—minus the tattoos and piercings, of course. I hadn’t seen Royce since he was a toddler, and I marveled at how he had morphed into a handsome twelve-year-old, his features sharp and promising, on the cusp of becoming a young man. His bright eyes gleamed with mischief, reminding me I was looking at a Bryant.
