I heard my phone ring and a few seconds later Reno answered my call. "Michael, it's a pleasant surprise that you're calling me now," Reno said on the other line. "Reno, my tracker just got back today and he has information about the rogues and the werewolf hunters," I said to Reno and I heard him take a deep breath. I can tell that he was already frustrated just hearing the words 'rogues' and 'hunters'. "Okay, I'm listening," Reno replied.

I leaned against the railing and closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath of the cool night air. Tomorrow, the mating balls week of festivities would be over. I would return home and watch Lynn show her mate off to our parents while they drowned her in praise and affection. Should I tell them about the rejection? Or should I just say that as usual I didn't meet my mate?
