“What’s wrong?” Jessica shook her head, trying to steady herself. “Did you hear that? That voice—” “No one said anything,” Lucas interrupted, his brow furrowing. “Are you sure you’re okay?” She wanted to believe it was exhaustion playing tricks on her mind, but deep down, she knew better. This wasn’t fatigue or paranoia. This was something else entirely. Something… supernatural. Selene stepped closer, her gaze piercing. “Interesting,” she murmured, tilting her head as though listening for something only she could hear. “It seems our little hybrid has more allies than we realized.”

I understand you want to keep her safe, but locking her up isn't the thing to do. She's stronger than everyone thinks. If she weren't, she wouldn't be chosen by not only the Moon Goddess but also the Witch Goddess." Jessica says. "I know. I'm not trying to lock her up, but I understand how it sounds after the fact." I say, scrubbing my hands down my face in frustration. "I only want to make sure that if something happens to me, the kids will still have her."

My heart quickened as she noticed me and made her way toward me, weaving through the sea of people with practiced ease. Mrs. Moore wore her typical fur coat over an extravagant white power suit and dark sunglasses, even though it wasn’t sunny outside. She styled her peppered golden brown hair in a high ponytail, which stretched her features and made her look younger. She really was a beautiful woman. No wonder Kat was a stunning beauty.

When she reached the coffin, she released him, shoving him forward. Kellan stumbled away. Victor immediately stepped forward. Too late. Jessica placed both hands against Morrha's body. “Transfer.” The moment her hand touched Morrha, the connection began. Jessica gasped. The power was not like anything she expected. It wasn't entering her. It was moving through her. Victor realized what was happening. “Stop her.” His men moved. The first two to reach the coffin turned to ashes. It happened instantly. The others stopped. Victor stared. Jessica continued.

"I'll ensure to congratulate Parish Evermoore personally when I run into him next time." Jessica's body tensed up, her eyes widened in shock and horror. "You..." She opened her mouth to speak, to deny, but couldn't even form words in her head. Parish Evermoore was a designer. She'd worked with him for years, and though they had a professional relationship in public, they weren’t that involved outside of their line of work—at least that was what everyone thought. Feeling like she had been outsmarted once more and her carefully conceived plan had been shattered right in front of her, Jessica teared up. "I didn't mean to—"

She whispered, glaring hard at her, but Monica just smirked and with mirth and anger in her eyes, she raised her hand, and Jessica's eyes widened on seeing the black magic that surrounded her palm before she aimed it towards her. "You took everything away from me Jessica... My trust... Our parents love.. my friends" she shook her head with tears spilling down her cheeks. At that moment, Jessica turned to the door on hearing gasps, only to see her mum, dad and sisters standing there and staring at Simons body in shock.
